Hi My TV Guie doesn't seem to be updating. After I noticed that there were no more listings in the guide, I go into configuration and click on update epg but nothing seems to happen. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

Have you updated the xml listings? GB-PVR does not automatically go the the web and do this,

Cheers,
Colin.

I created a batch file containing these two lines:
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">cd c:\personal\xmltv-0.5.32-win32
xmltv tv_grab_na_dd --output c:\personal\gbpvr_files\guide\guide.xml
[/QUOTE]

In the first line, change the directory to whereever you installed xmltv.

For the second line change tv_grab_na_dd to your appropriate 'grab' command, and change  the output parameter to whereever you told gbpvr to get the guide xml file from.

Then just go into the windows scheduler and schedule the running of that bat fiile nightly at some time prior to 2am (give it some time to complete, so I wouldn't set it for any later than 1 am).

That's it, you shouldn't have to worry about updating the guide manually anymore [Image: smile.gif]

Someone asked via private message about getting the automated method above to work with tv_grab_na_dd (the 'new' way xmltv is going to).  It is a bit different due to the fact that _dd requires a login password.  Thought it would be useful to reprint so here it is:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (glassvial @ May 11 2004,09:19)]Have you gotten xmltv automate working with tv_grab_na_dd?  I know dd is the new format and in fact the new version of xmltv has basically dropped just na, but I can't get xmltv automate to work with the dd, and doesn't the dd need some sort of login as well?  How'd you get that all working? [Image: smile.gif]

Yes, DD needs a login.  Try to config xmltv with DD and it will give you the url to go and get a login (its free).  Then go back and do the xmltv config and give it your username and password.  It will ask if you want to save that info in the config file and advise against it, but tell it yes.  That way the automation scheme I showed works even with DD.

Run DD once manually through gbpvr import tho first.  With mine it had duplicate channels that I had to remove via xmltv config to keep gbpvr from choking on the duplicates.
