I am currently using a Harmony 350 Universal Remote Control which connects to my PC through a usb Microsoft receiver. (The receiver is old but the harmony is newer). I have also used various remotes that have come with my Haupauge capture cards that have an IR sensor plugged into the card. All of these have worked very well but the Harmony s now my favorite as it can be easily programed to operate the rest of my home theatre too. On my small TV in the bedroom where I have a Raspberry Pi running Kodi and NEWA connected directly to the TV I am using the TV remote to control it via CEC. Also works well apart from the combination being a little sluggish.
Win7 Enterprise, ASUS Prime H270-Pro, i3 7100 @ 3.9, 4GB Ram, 128Gb SSD, 2 x 1000Gb HDD, 1 x 2000Gb external HDD, Hauppauge HVR-2200, Hauppauge HDR-4000, SiloconDust HD HomeRun Dual, 42" LG LCD. Client - Raspberry Pi 3 Panasonic 32" LCD

RTKAT Wrote:Thanks for the info. I will do some research on these. Seems to be working now. Or did you not check ACCEPT CONDITIONS? and you will be impressed. It's much less impact (IMO) than some of the other IR solutions out there. Remember to update the firmware first thing-> file, advanced, force fw update. Then program away.
Yes, I hit the accept checkmark. It just would not do anything past a key press on the button to get things going. Not the first time I have run into a site that had a problem. It can happen.
From what I read it does appear to be a good option. Thanks for the reminder to update at start up. Just got happy because the seller I purchased a desktop from that will run everything was finally shipped. Fedex shows they actually have it. Something went wrong with the seller because right after I ordered he shut the store down due to a "problem." A seller that has high marks and has been selling for a long time. Not someone new. Should be here Thursday. . UPDATE: Still not working and yes I am logged in on that site. ??????

Yes, with chrome, edge. FLIRC.tv, downloads, windows 32/64, accept checkbox (links go blue), and latest release... Both download no problem. Might be because you are in Michigan. Lol (mi native here, in New Orleans)

Must be I am holding my mouth wrong or I have a hair out of place. It just will not download. Maybe it is cold, cold Michigan that is the problem. OK, I got a version to "play" with from softpedia.
I would have gone with Amazon but liked what I found on Ebay better. I do like Prime and the great returns at Amazon. |
