I found some non empty folders of deleted recordings containing -thumbs.jpg file.
Ex: Murdoch Mysteries_20151209_14001500-thumbs.jpg

3.6.6 Win7 x64
Server : NextPVR 4.2.3 Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz 8GB Win7Pro, Hauppauge HVR-2250 Dual Tuner, DIAMOND ATI Theater HD 750 USB TV Tuner, Homemade fractal antenna, SchedulesDirect EPG.
Client : NextPVR 4.2.3 Intel I7-2600K @4.5GHz 8GB, Radeon HD6800, Win7Pro

Edit config.xml and add jpg to the list here:

<DeleteAdditionalExtensions>srt,txt,log,d2a,edl,csv,bat,wme,vprj,logo.txt,dvbsub,sm</DeleteAdditionalExtensions>

That line tells NPVR what file extensions to delete when you delete a recording.

The jpg is already present in the Server config.xml.
I have seen jpg file in the folders before and they were deleted.
I added it to the Client config.xml to be on the safe side.

I'd guess that if "thumbs" is not in the recording file name then it wouldn't match when the files are deleted. ???

I did post about that during the beta cycle and it was never fixed. Because of the way the catalog file works it can exist and still not be found be clients because of the path name differences.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I have a similar issue. And this is my first post.

I have been using NPVR for over a year; and, made my donations Smile I also use the Schedules Direct subscription. It works GREAT! I just recently upgraded to release 3.6.6 and I now see these <show name>thumbs.jpg files around 28k in my recording folders. They were not there in previous releases. I have this in the config.xml file <DeleteAdditionalExtensions>srt,txt,log,d2a,edl,csv,bat,wme,vprj,logo.txt,dvbsub,sm,xml,incommercial</DeleteAdditionalExtensions>. I am not sure how to edit the xml file. Also, will this make it so the thumbs.jpg do not show up? I do not need these files.

This is the most recent example from a recorded show. Is there a way to not have these created by changing a setting?
