NPVR crashing / Win 10

I fired up a backup system that I run from time to time and found several "Idol" recordings still on that drive.
I must leave for an appointment now, but when I get back I will try to find a bad segment and upload.

I found a file that crashes, but there's a problem.

The file is 6GB long and the crash happens about half way thru.
It doesn't appear to me that I could use CutChunk to get to the middle?

I tried another splitter, but after some time realized it reformatted the output to an AVI file, which plays without any errors.

I'm sure you will have a solution

FYI: I'm leaving now and won't be back home for several hours.

Just cut it multiple times. ie, a big cut from the beginning, to the end you want to capture, then open that cut file and do a cut from the end of it. voila, a section from the middle is in the new file.

It won't allow a cut larger than 1GB.

It's only very lightly tested, but should do the job.

That's a great little app you threw together!
Sometime when you have nothing better to do it would be great if you could convert the timing marks to seconds.

I tested the new patch with the couple of clips I sent to you and they seem to play fine.
ClosedCaptions seem to work and no crashes.
Wednesday night should be the real test.

It's a less than ideal solution, but hopefully it'll do the job. It's stripping out some of the less-important CC control codes, which seems to have been sent immediately prior to those crashes. There is every possibility you can strike other codes that might cause problems.

I don't have a report yet for tonight's episode of "Idol", my wife just began watching it.
However, earlier we were watching an episode of "Family Feud" and it crashed 6 secs in.
(this is with the new CCextractor installed; if I remove it works fine)
