I run my NPVR setup on a small atom powered HP T5740 thin client and for years it has worked great. Up until this week I have run it off of a full sized mini pcie avermedia tuner card sitting sort of half way into a half height slot. You had to position it just right but it would work fine and all of my analog channels came in fine and my HD ATSC channels worked fine as well. Well I got a expansion module this week that allows me to put a full size PCI/PCIE card into the little thin client so I decided to swap out my old avermedia mini pcie card to a ATI TV Wonder HD 650 PCI card. I swapped everything over and installed the ATI drivers and NPVR saw the card with the ATSC/QAM/Analog tuners just fine. I then selected the tuners and told it to copy the channel configs from the old avermedia card and that worked just fine as well. Now here is where my problem lies. I can tune all of the analog channels just fine but they come up on the screen very shaky from the top to the bottom and the picture itself seems to be lower on the screen with the bottom ticket on channels like cnn cut in half and a white line of nothing at the top of the screen. The audio is even sort of distorted to by in sync with the shaking. I tried every video renderer and decoder combination there is but nothing changes. I think the little thin client does render stuff video software because NPVR doesn't think the hardware is strong enough to do it even though I can play 1080p files just fine in Kodi with the stock Intel GL40 graphics. I was really hoping a full sized pci card would be better but it looks like it might be worse than my little mini pcie avermedia card? I will attach a log file and any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

It's likely there is nothing NextPVR can do about this (it's just want the device is producing), but can you supply a short sample recording so I can see what you're talking about?

I'm really not sure what you mean by that, but NPVR doesn't think anything. Whether you get hardware decode or render assistance depends solely on your decoder, video card and video driver.

I am rather puzzled by your analog recording graphs:
Code:

2016-02-10 12:49:31.382    [DEBUG][23]     - ????

2016-02-10 12:49:31.382    [DEBUG][23]     - ATI AVStream Analog Tuner
The "-????" entry is often "- ????????" or "- ????0???" or even "- ????t???"... I have no idea what to make of that (and why isn't the next line "- Profit"?). Seems like that line should be the hardware MPEG encoder....

Oh, I think there was something about the analogdevices.xml being corrupted... Post your analogdevices.xml, I think the trouble may be there.

Could you point me towards where that .xml file would be located? I looked in my program files folder for nextpvr and could not locate it. Is it in the registry or somewhere else? The only thing I can think those ????? may be is when I was constantly going through different renderers and decoders? I wonder if this could have something to do with my old mc2xml setup that I never disabled after MS stopped providing the metadata?

It looks like I may have fixed it. I just restarted and NPVR seems to have automatically chosen Overlay for my renderer and MS DTV-DVD for my decoder and somehow it has started to work like normal? I restarted it three times before when switching between them and nothing happens but it seems to be working fine now? I am encountering another issue however. I RDP into this little box and I keep on getting a message that a program is trying to change something on it and click to view it. When I do all it shows are two little bars each with "NGCableCardhost proc..." on them. I do run a Ceton Infinitv 4 on my network from my HTPC connected to media center extenders. Is NPVR possibly seeing this on my network somehow?
Edit: It looks like NPVR does somehow see all 4 of my ceton tuners over the network when I look under devices. I will attach a log file and a picture of what it is showing me. Is this something as simple as just telling NPVR to ignore the ceton tuners?

if only someone had taken the time to document things like the location of files, made it into a sticky at the top of the support forum, and even linked it in his signature... if only....

The overlay renderer is not recommended unless you're on very old hardware, and would only affect playback, not recordings. And it definitely didn't automatically choose it, it doesn't do that. Try EVR.

The reboot may have corrected some issue with the card or drivers.

Yes, NPVR sees the Ceton device. You can disable each tuner in Settings->Devices->Device Setup, and then it shouldn't spin up ncchost processes for them.

I went and disabled all of the Ceton tuners like you posted but I am still getting the exact same message even after I restarted and went back and made sure they were disabled?

If you click that 'view the message' button, what does it say?
