Sorry to add more to the fray, sub, but what's the deal with the conflict resolutions? I don't know if anyone else is still experiencing this or not but ever since a few releases ago, I've had trouble with my conflicts resolving correctly. A show stays in the Conflicts section even though it's been resolved (either through the Conflicts resolution method or resolving it by deleting the conflicting recording from Pending Recordings). Lemme know if anyone knows anything, please!

Thanks!

I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm using 0.93.10. What happens if that conflict stays in the list? Will anythinng or nothing record?

Maybe sub or one of the others can shed light into this.

I noticed that almost 90% of the time, when I get a conflict on setting a manual recording, if I choose to cancel the conflicting recording and keep the new one, I get the black "Object reference not set to instance of object" dialog, and when I hit OK, neither show is listed in Pending... So the conflicting show was removed but the new one was not added.

Please provide an exact set of steps to reproduce this. Provide as much detail as possible.

The "solution" I've found works, but if VERY annoying. Whatever show is listed in the conflict window, go to the pending list. Go back to conflicts. If it's gone, wonderful. Usually isn't gone. Go back to pending and delete another instance. go back to conflicts and repeat pending delete / conflicts as necessary.

I should qualify a bit. This is for a recurring manual recording. I create it ONCE only and only as a recurring with no reoccurrences as record onces. It seems like somehow the one recurring recording gets seen as multiple recordings requiring deletion of the "phantom" extras.

I'm in the United States with the Hauppage USB2 PVR and Zap2it epg.

I hope this is somewhat clear.

My case is simple to reproduce. I assume for the sake of explanation that there is a single capture card, with 2 capture sources defined - one for the tuner and one for the composite / s-vid input:
  1. Go to TV Guide, and select a show that will air some time later.
  2. Press OK to add a recording (I think it was a recurring, "any instances on this channel" but not sure).
  3. Now go to Recordings, Pending to see the instances of this show.
  4. Select manual recording, choose the channel defined for the second capture source (cmoposite / s-vid input) and times that overlap the show you chose in the EPG.
  5. When you get the black conflict screen, you have the 2 choices (cancel new - manual - request, or cancel the -slightly- older one). Select the second option - to cancel the show you requested through the tuner.
  6. Viola! At this point I almost always get the "Object reference not set to instance of an object" error dialog. This used to happen in 09211 as well, and now happens to me in 09310. I can't tell how frequently, though.
  7. Press "OK" in the dialog. You're back at the main menu. Check the TV Guide - the show was cancelled. Check Recordings=>Pending: The manual recording does not appear either.
Thanks,
GGF

Sub, I have not figured out how to reproduce it, but I think I still have gotten it. I did not think about it, but I think I am the first to run multipe sources on one card (I now have 3 setup) I think GGF is on the right track with this, I will 'try' and note if when it happens if the 2 shows are on different capture sources. I am pretty sure they are.

Sorry to disappoint you Pioneer4x4, but just about anyone who has a single card would have such a setup, because the composite input (or S-Video input) of the card will be set up as a capture source to record off of the set-top-box and the analog Tuner on the same card will be set up as a second capture source, so anyone who has both analog "off-the-air" channels as well as a set-top-box, will have a setup with 2 capture sources on the same card.

@sub: In my case, there is another symptom I neglected to mention - I have 2 physical capture cards now, and have set up 2 recordings from the EPG and I tried to add a manual recording that overlaps (in part) both of the existing recordings. In the conflict dialog, I still only had 2 options - cancel the manual recording, or cancel a show, but just one of the shows were listed as an option.

Thanks,
GGF
