After the 3.8.3 upgrade I lost the short skip option and I can't figure out how to get it back.

On the hauppauge remote I had skip >| for normal skip , ff >> for fast forward and used right > for short skip. Now skip and right both do normal skip, and ff does whatever the setting is for FF/RW behavior. I've played with the keymapping but can't seem to get it back the way it was.

Did the update change this? Is there someplace that explains these settings? I can't seem to get the FF and SkipFF on different keys.

Thanks
What, me worry?

I am testing from x-newa right now playback requests work like this

remote left, arrow left and skip backward Skip Backward
remote, right arrow right and skip forward. Skip Forward

ctrl-f and ff = Short Skip Forward
ctrl-r and rw = Short Skip Back.

Go to Settings --> Misc2. Change "FF/RW behavior:" from "Short Skip" to "Fast Play".

Given that Southern New Hampshire is just a "short skip" from Northern Massachusetts, where I am, I figured I could answer this one.

yes, someone had the great idea to make the arrows do the big skip, thus eliminating the little skip. I griped about it during pre-release testing, no one cared. I was bitter for awhile.

Perhaps I can make a wishlist request here since I have only recently restarted using NextPVR control instead of Kodi's. When the OSD is not showing the guides the arrows should work more like Kodi

right and left - short skip
up and down - full skip

We probably need another key to activate mini guide Maybe OK?

Ah, so it did change. How can I get the short skip back on the right and left keys?

This keymapping does not work:

Code:
<Key code="{CTRL}Right" command="SkipForward"/>
<Key code="{CTRL}Left" command="SkipBack"/>
<Key code="{CTRL}R" command="Rewind"/>
<Key code="{CTRL}F" command="FastForward"/>
<Key code="Right" command="SkipFF"/>
<Key code="Left" command="SkipRW"/>
What, me worry?

I Totally Agree!!!
why not leave all the skips available if you can? smooth ff **and** short and long skips, there are enough keys...
could remove the setting in config also..Big Grin
