I have WinXP Home with plenty of HD and RAM. I recently installed GBPVR so I'm not very familiar with it yet. I also have the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250 installed and its software. I installed GBPVR because the Scheduler which came with WinTV is not so good, and someone said GB is better. It may be, but so far, I'm having too many problems to be convinced.

I also have both Comcast cable, and Dish Network Satellite. One day I'll probable dump one or the other. In the mean time, I set up Config so that both Cable and Satellite EPG's are installed. If I start up GBPVR and click on Live TV, I can watch the Satellite channels. I change the channels with a Dish remote. I realize that if I had an USB IR blaster, I could have GBPVR control the remote receiver. Maybe I'll do that someday.

However, if I click on a cable channel on TVGuide, I expect to see that particular channel on the cable, but instead, I get the Satellite channel.

If I open WinTV2000 and select a cable channel, then go back to GBPVR and select the same channel on TVGuide, I still see the Satellite channel. I expected to see the cable channel.

Is my understanding about what I should see correct? If so, how do I get it to work that way?

Thanks for any help.

How have you got both sources hooked up to a single 250?
How have you set up the EPG? With two channel lineups, or ???
You can never have enough tuners!

What inputs are you using? One on Svideo and one on coax?

How are your sources in config setup?

I have the Satellite receiver connected to the SVIDEO connector on the PVR250 card, and the cable TV is connected to the Cable connector on the PVR250.

I set up the EPG with two channel lineups. The Recorder Plugin is Direct Recording Plugin, the EPG Pluging is Zap2it, and the Channel Changer is No Channel Changer Required

If that channel is listed (and enabled) in both the satellite and cable capture sources, then GB-PVR will choose one. This sounds like what you are seeing. If so, you can go and disable the channel in the satellite capture source and this will force it to use the cable capture source instead.

Hey reboot you beat me to it! Big Grin

OK - In the UK here so bear with me and probably a bit out of my depth...

Can Comcast be received/decoded through the 250 cable input? - I know in the UK the digital cable feeds can't be...

I assume you have your 2 sources set up correctly as follows:

One is set to SVIDEO
The other to Cable?

Yes, the above is correct.

By the way, there are no duplications of channels between the two lines. The cable channels run from 2 to 99, while the Satellite channels run from 105 to 260. So how could GBPVR be trying to decide which channel to display? Each channel is distinct.

The Comcast channels which come into my house are all analog. Therefore, the WinTV card has no problem seeing them.

Its actually based on channel name, not channel number, so if you tried to view Discovery Channel, and this channel happens to be listed on both capture sources, then GB-PVR will pick one itself.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and email your logs and gbpvr.mdb file to me at support@devnz.com and I'll tell you what is wrong. I'm sure it'll be something simple. We would have heard a lot more about it before if there was a problem in this area.

You have somehow mixed the source for the analog cable to S-Video, instead of tuner?

This was exactly the problem. Each "source line" had the channels of both Cable and Satellite, and all were enabled. By unchecking the Satellite channels in the Cable line, and unchecking the Cable channels in the Satellite line, everything straightened out and began to behave.

Thanks for your help.
