Alright, here is what it says:

"Could not construct a graph from this file.
* have you installed all necessary filters?

I don't know if this matters, but i created this .wmv files from moviemaker, they run fine in windows media player.

Thats pretty much the steps that GB-PVR does, which is resulting in the same error. In this case its likely that you have some filter on your machine that is trying be used for WMV playback, but is not able to do the task.

It can be difficult to really difficult to work out exactly which filter is causing the problem. As I mentioned earlier, the Elecard software is known to cause exactly this problem. If you dont have Elecard software, then its obviously something else, but your guess is probably as good as mine. You may have to download a 'directshow filter manager' and start disabling/re-enabling filters until you find the culprit.

Windows Media Player is forcing the use of Microsoft only components, wheras GB-PVR is relying on your machine's default components for this file time.

bummer--i would have no idea where to start, and the last hing i want to do is ruin anything else... oh well, i'll just convert to mpg and watch them as mpg!

wait, what about this for a long shot, can i download and install a new wmv codec or something that will "overwrite" whatever filter is causing this problem?

Hey sub, i just reinstalled windows media player 10 and it took care of the problem. go figure!
