Post logs when NPVR Crashes

Haven't seen a place to post but is there a place that we should submit logs when NPVR crashes to help diagnose issues?

Yep, you post them here on the forums, with a description of approximately what was happening at the time.

Ok! 

I have attached two logs in the zip.

Every time it crashed I immediately took a copy of the file so it should be at the end.

The first one was when my girlfriend launched kodi from my windows machine using the linux pvr backend on a raspberry pi 4.  It just crashed on kodi starting to play the last channel.   I haven't had any issues with scheduled recordings.

The second one I think its because my windows machine and raspberry pi were competing for the same channel on the .  I forgot to stop a show from recording on windows.  I don't think NPVR likes 2 instances on different machines.

Thanks for taking a look!  Also this happened on the previous version.  I still need to update.

Also crashed again this morning.  I think this is when the recording was finishing up at 1:04am.

I have attached an additional log.  Today I'm planning on upgrading to the new version.

Unfortunately because NextPVR uses caching for the logging we won't get a complete picture. If you are interested in solving this I can give you some instructions to tun the caching off with a definite performance impact on smaller devices. Even then we might not get a a cause if it is a true crash.

As a first step, it'd be worth upgrading to yesterday's release. It fixed an issue that could cause the server to crash.

I'm still tweaking the performance with Comskip. I still need to implement that nicely setting so that the raspberry pi doesn't get over taxed. Another thought I had was to have another raspberry pi just do the comskip part since its very resource intensive. I haven't switched over to using Kodi on the front end yet which will be the next step once I can prove the backend is stable. If the update from the new version isn't the fix we can definitely try turning off caching.  Hope all my testing is helpful!

Personally I would never bother with comskip using the RPi, it is already underpowered for network and disk use. What kind of fps are your getting?

All testing is valuable.

Is that in one of the comskip logs? Going to take a look right now.

I think I found it. Processing at 190.49 fps.

My windows box does 1034fps. Wow that's a huge difference. My desktop is an old core i7 870.
