If you bring up Windows Explorer, and navigate to the directory with nextpvr.exe (something like "C:\Program Files\NPVR\client"), right click on nextpvr.exe, select Properties->Compatibility, click 'Change High DPI settings'. On that screen, you'll probably need to try the bottom checkbox.

Checking the bottom box in the 'Change High DPI settings' screen gives you three choices.  Tried them all, no change.
I'm sure it'll be to do with this. We've had a pile of user with the exact same thing over the years (in NextPVR v4).

When is your desktop DPI set to? ie, right click on your desktop, and select display settings. To test the theory that it's to do with DPI, you could briefly try it set to 100%, to see if it then works correctly

What version of Windows?

Quote:I don't see anything in Firefox indicating that it blocked the video.  The Autoplay setting for all sites is set to "block audio".  I tried setting an exception for localhost:8867, but, to be honest, I can't see how to do that in firefox.  I got to the screen OK via the "Settings..." button, but how you put in a site is a mystery to me. This IS apparently a Firefox issue, though, because I tried it in Edge and it works.  This is the standard Edge that came with Windows 10 1903.  I don't think it's the Chromium edge.  Unfortunately, I use Firefox as default browser.
I had the same when I first tested v5 with Firefox. Try these steps:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay

Set it to 'Allow Audio and Video'. You'll need to refresh the page after changing the setting, so the stream restarts.

If I can detect this, I'll try to add a message on the play screen to tell the user their audio/video auto is blocked

Changing the global Autoplay in Firefox to "Allow video and audio" made it work. I don't like having to do this for obvious reasons, so it should probably be addressed somehow. The reason I was slow getting back to you on these things is that the Email from the forum appears broken, at least for me. I posted in new site about this.

In the next build it'll detect the browser blocking playback and let the user know.

As mentioned on that page, you can do it on a per site basis. ie, try viewing a channel, then click the small (i) button in the url bar, and enable video.

Ultimately, there is no magic NextPVR or any other web app can work - if your browser is blocking video, you'll need to set to allow video. The next release will at least let the user know if there browser is blocking video.

Some email is getting through, but quite a bit is being blocked. I'm investigating the cause.

Ah, I didn't go all the way to a channel. I'll give that a whirl.

Set to 175 in settings. Both of my displays are 1920 x 1080. I've tried various things in "Compatibility>Change High DPI Settings" but no joy so far. I'll keep trying.

That 'browser blocked video playback' message has been added for the next release, and will help users identify why they're not seeing anything.

Did you try 100 to see if it made a difference? (I know you wont want to leave it on that, but it tests the theory that it's DPI related)

Ugh. Time to quit. Changed the global Firefox setting to "Block Audio" for Autoplay. Tried the web app and it worked! Not what I expected. Closed FFox and reopened. Still works. Mysterious!

I've had to give up testing NextPVR streaming on my phone. When I enable autoplay I can't seem to turn it off and I end up with multiple high data usage warnings because of other sites (NextPVR is not enabled for external so it is all the other crap html5) and it is really hard to stop this streaming even after disabling it.

I clicked "Turn off custom scaling and logout".  After logging back in, it now says it's 150% instead of 175%, but looks the same.  Good news is that the client now looks normal.
