It looks like you're missing those verbose logs again. Is that environment variable still set?

I suspect it is the same error as sub showed above. Logs can get truncated by the crash too. I don't think NextPVR can do anything about disk i/o issues and if it is failing in the kernel by power or overheating for example I don't know what you expect.

Yup, I added a line to the end of /etc/profile. I haven't restarted the device today at all since you said the logs were correct. Should I have saved the logs before restarting the NPVR service? Does that reset the logs?

I did update to the newest version but using your update, updating shouldn't have been an issue. Should I use Martin's update for the logs?

I restarted the service went to the webserver and then downloaded the logs. Is that the correct procedure? Or should I manually collect the logs?

So it there anything I can do? Are you saying this doesn't seem like an NPVR issue?  My device also has a fan, and the CPU and temps seem to be normal and aren't maxing out for this session

I can only answer with a question. If your Windows drive was failing with I/o errors and crashed regularly would you blame NextPVR because it used the drive?

Oh I didn't realize what you were saying before.  I'm recording to an external hard drive.  It is weird that NPVR would crash rather than continue to run and report that the hard drive failed. NPVR is running on the micro SD card.

It's not weird to me, NextPVR seems to be handling the error fine but it can only report and not handle RPi system crashes. The i/o could be the SD card or the USB subsystem maybe your system logs will help you (I don't help with system issues, especially on the RPi)

Sounds good. Thank you. I'm trying a different drive to see if the hard drive is the issue. I'm going to look up how to read the raspberry pi system files and see if I can uncover anything

So I switched to a USB SD card reader for a hard drive and had 0 issues today. Definitely seems like the external hard drive has some sort of issue. Thanks for helping me diagnosis it! Going to try out another hard drive and see

I installed NextPVR, at first it worked but after a couple of hours it stopped recording the scheduled shows.
I logged into the Web UI and the TV channel did not work. After rebooting the PC, NextPVR works fine. (for now)

This was the message that I got (from the Web UI Recordings)
[Failed: The operation has timed out.]
