I've been lurking on and off for a few weeks now and I feel I have seen this problem alluded to but with no solutions posted.

I'm running GBPVR on WinXP, using a Hauppauge 150 card and an Nvidia 5200fx (128mb) card for s-video output, all on an Athlon 1.8ghz Machspeed motherboard with 512mb RAM.

The details are as follows: after a scheduled or a manual recording, the Hauppauge remote control stops responding. Specifically, when trying to change channels, the little black box with the remote's input appears on the screen, but the information is not sent to my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 cable box (Time Warner NYC), and the channel does not change. The only way to get it to work again is to close GBPVR and open it again. This makes recording back-to-back programming impossible, besides the general hassle of having to close and reopen the program after every recording.

Has anyone discovered a solution to this? A setting or patch perhaps?

To use the IR Blaster that came with your PVR150, you need to edit you capture source, set it to use the .exe channel changer, and point it at c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\HaupBlast.exe utility.

I was about to try that solution when the following occurred: I tried updating my EPG listings manually in the Config application and after about 5-10 minutes I received the following error message:

"Failure in ChannelFactory:ConfusedtoreChannels(): Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Note: I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest GBPVR, as well as the Hauppauge drivers and software, but this error remains.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a more detailed error description in config.exe.log?

This is what I found in the config.exe.log file (I couldn't post the entire thing because it was too large; this is the second half of it). I also have a config.exe-2.log file; if it's relevant, let me know and I will post it.

Sounds like some data might be stuffed in your database. Easily solution is probably uninstall, delete the gbpvr directory, then reinstall.

Well, thankfully, that solution worked. However, the remote control problem has become slightly worse.

Before, I was able to change the channel before a recording happened. Now I can't do that; all I get is the little black box showing my input, but not changing the channel on the cable box. I can navigate GBPVR just fine, including selecting LiveTV and Exit, but the cable box is not responding. The IR transmitter seems to be working (it's lighting up) and I have my capture source set to C:\...\haupblast.exe.

Is there any other solution?
