The last time I tried v5 it wouldnt pull groups from IPTV lists, v4 has this ability. Sub said he'd fix that in next release, not sure if he's done that yet.
Totally aware that the backend server is not a "home theater".

NextPVR v5 is better than v4 on the IPTV front. It does groups etc. In fact, with the most recent release, when you're importing it'll allow you select the groups you want to import. ie, you might only be interested in US/UK channels, and not want the rest.

Don't worry I'm not getting rid of the idea of having a fullscreen client you can drive with remote from the couch etc. There will always be a client of that type available. NextPVR.exe is still that client at the moment, but I'm experimenting other options for the future. There is also other fullscreen client options with Apple TV, kodi etc.

Also, I'd make sure your audio renderer is set to "Default". Some of the other options can lead to A/V sync issues.

Not sure if you remember me a month ago talking about the lack of groups (and you said you broke that and would fix in next update lol)

That's awesome.....definitely making the switch.
Is there a different player mechanism in this version? Like is it possible that v5 will fix the live TV playback issues?

The nextpvr.exe client is still using the same playback components behind the scenes, so I wouldn't expect too much difference on playback. You never know though...

Is there anything I can try to tinker with it? Like what should I mess with to try and make sure that "speed up" issue doesnt happen again?

As mentioned in my earlier posts in thread, try that legacy reader/demux setting. If you got a recording that demonstrates the issue, supply the file and I'll check what's happening. (it'll likely be something like a clock wrapping around in the source stream, and the demux not handling it well)

Hi Sub, you never confirmed if you looked at the recording file I supplied with this problem to see if this was the case for that one?

https://bit.ly/2Rk3fET

In my case when I try to use "use legacy reader/demux" it doesn't solve the problem and also breaks live TV...

I'd consider trying out version 5 if there's a chance things would improve... is there a way to import tuning and channel configuration from v4 into v5?
