Hi everyone the latest version of GBPVR is excellent I'm actually using it as intedned and it works great. I'm not sure if this is possible or if it might be a wishlist possibility so here goes. I want GBPVR to start up automatically as the systems comes up from a reboot or powerup. I do not have a keyboard I typically VNC to the PC and login that way. I have it plugged into my tv with the PVR350 so it's really my main tuner. Is their anyway of having it start up in the background as a service? I know the the recording service starts up that way but i'm not sure if the GBPVR.EXE can start up during bootup and minimize itself without having to login? Any ideas would be appreciated also I know that I can have windows xp do an autologin with the registry but I want to avoid that for security reasons, if that's the only way for now then I'll just do that.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

That's easy to fix:
- to startup GBPVR automatically, just put a shortcut to GBPVR.exe in directory C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- to login automatically: install Powertoys

Thanks however I know about the autologin and startup I was thinking more along the lines of a background service with-out having to login. Sort of like how VNC or some other servers just run as the systems boots up as a service.

There are plenty of programs out there which will allow you to run a standard executable as a service, some free, some commercial. I cant think of the name of any off hand, but I'm sure google will turn up a few for you.

Your post made me curious, so I did som digging.I found a little program called FireDaemon Lite (google it). It will do exactly as you wanted, run hidden as a service and output to the tv. The only ting you will need to do is select run hidden and allow desktop use.

Thanks for the info I did download Firedaemon Pro but didn't notice the lite so I'll give that a wirl. Also I found in the NT admin tools srvany.exe which does the same but it's too generic and takes too long to setup in my opinion.
