Since my suggestion for having the server restart a failed recording @ https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=59869 was not well received I have an alternate feature suggestion for consideration. Might it be possible to have a setting for a max record time such that if set for 15 min a 1 hr show selected from the guide would create four ts files with a sequence number appended to the end of the filename? This would at least minimize the amount of the recording that's lost when a stream hicccups. Would be especially helpful recording a 3 to 6 hour show in the guide.  Whenever I encounter a program longer than an hour, particularly sporting events, I have to create several manual recordings to better ensure I don't loose the whole thing. This is time consuming especially since the "scheduler>add manual recording" function, via a browser, doesn't remember all of the entry fields if a few recordings are created in succession.

Appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks.

It's unlikely I'd add something like that. Ugly.

Not clear what is ugly. But thanks for giving this serious consideration and taking the time to respond.

Be nice if "add manual recording" would remember last channel and last directory chosen so multiple manual entries would go a bit faster. Hopefully not too much to ask.

Also another minor glitch that is noticed due to using add manual recording a lot. I run a script, using windows scheduler, that copies recordings from the NextPvr destination folder to another where I process w/ comskip. As a consequence, the script deleting of recordings that were set via the guide are of no consequence. But manually scheduled recordings leave a remnant error on the main UI screen even though the recording was sucessful. Requires clicking delete for many recordings that stack up on the UI screen (browser). I would run a post-process script that may not behave this way but can't figure out how to copy to smb path (unmapped nas drive) using NextPvr service. Works fine executed manually or by win scheduler but not by NextPvr service even though the service and myself are logged in with same name/password (credentials).
