Hi all,

I've recently upgraded from v4 to v5 on a windows10 machine.  I'm running Kodi 18 on RPi4 as clients.  I have two strange issues...

1. Throughout the day of watching various channels, the temp videos successfully clear on a channel change.  However, the very small 8k map files remain.  These build up over time.  I can successfully clear them out manually, but NPVR seems to not be able to clear them - as if they are still open at the moment they are trying to delete.  Not sure if I am alone on this one, but I can't see anything in any posts.

2. I had a few channels that would lock up after exactly 6:38.  In watching the files, it was right at the point when a new file was being opened.  What I found was that the channel name contained an ampersand (&).  For example A&E.  Just for fun I decided to rename the channel to AE and test.  This fixed it and the issue was resolved.  I repeated this again for "HGTV - Home & Garden Television" which behaved exactly the same way.  Again - all other channels were fine - even "E! Entertainment" worked ok.  Once I renamed the channels the problem went away.

Again - not sure if others are seeing the same behavior or if this is something particular with my setup.

Thanks for the feedback.

What type of tuner are you using? Reproduce the problem, then post the logs and I'll take a look. Let me know the name of a file that gets left behind.

Probably some question on this one - what type of tuner was this? (I know what the general cause is from your description, but the type of tuner will help me narrow down where to look)

2. Sorry for missing the tuner info - I am using 2 HDHomerun Prime with cablecards and Xfinity service.  Everything is working fine on the channel names once I renamed them.  FYI - I only renamed the channel name in Nextpvr and didn't rename the actual tuned channel in the HDHomerun.

HDHomerun Prime with 2 cablecards from Xfinity.  The files are named - live-WXYZDT-119.ts.map       Its always the map files - all the ts files successfully get deleted.  I apologize but I don't know how to post the logs (sorry for the newbie)...

This is common problem for all my Windows tuners.

2020-03-03 09:17:21.696 [DEBUG][279] Unable to delete live file: C:\Users\Public\Videos\live-CBOTDT-11740-7.ts (The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Public\Videos\live-CBOTDT-11740-7.ts.map' because it is being used by another process.)

Like OP, is this when you're accessing from Kodi?

I'm pretty sure this is an issues I'd already fixed for the next release.

No I don't typically use Kodi on Windows, that would have been browser.

What type of tuner were you using when you saw it? The behaviour will likely vary between tuner types.
