Ok - I wasn't sure you had the most recent drivers installed when you posted those.

It's basically saying the 'Digital Devices DVB-C Tuner 7' and 'Digital Devices TS Capture 7' components are failing to connect together, which needs to happen for NextPVR to be able to use the tuner. It's not really clear why.

There was a problem in the past where old Digital Devices could sometimes make it look like the wrong components go together (like "tuner 6" with "capture 3") etc, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. It looks like it's a correct pair that should connect.

Is the device working in other software? (like the software that came with it)

Yes, the device (all four in fact) is running fine with other software - right now with tvmosaic from dvblink, but I also tried DVBviewer. No problem there... Sad
There was no software that came with the card, but is there any other I can try which maybe gives some more detailed logs? Or a older driver version which is known to work?

Thanks a lot for your help by the way Smile

@Traxx83 do you have CI attached to your Digital Devices card? Then that's the problem. Disable the CI in the DD control panel and you will see channel scan is working.

@sub this was also a problem in the past and you've said something like "you don't care", because you don't have the hardware for testing. Do you remember?
I hope you change your mind, because if others can make it happen without actually owning the hardware, you can do it also.

He doesn't use exactly these words, but in the end it's the same. At least from a users standpoint:
"I have no plans to add additional CI support. As mentioned above - I no longer have smartcard setup here, so no easy way to test this stuff. Sorry."

No offense intended!

F.....
The problem is, that I can't get rid of the CI without loosing most channels, in HD at least. (Stupid german TV stations still think that business model will work the next 100 years...)
Most stuff is available with their apps, even in decent HD quality. But of course, some of it is missing or is put in the app weeks after it aired and the colleagues told me everything about it by then. Well, in normal times at least where you have to go to the office a few days a week....

I don't know where sub is located, but I have a spare DD card lying around and probably can also find some used CI module on ebay and would be willing to send it to him if I get it back.
Or maybe remote access to the machine (windows) would help?

Traxx83, sorry - I didn't pickup that you were trying to use CI. puenktchen is correct, unfortunately this is not supported, so NextPVR may not be able app for you.

"you don't care" is probably not the best interpretation of what I said. Personally, if I could still support CI in NextPVR, I would. Unfortunately I no longer have access to CI signals, CI modules, or smartcards. Our TV system here in New Zealand moved away from this a few years ago.

This CI stuff is complicated, and can't be developed by guess work. I would need real access to live signals to be able do anything about it.

@sub can't you look at the code of MediaPortal's TVServer to understand what needs to be done with DigitalDevices?

He can't use the code from MP or other FOSS because NextPVR is closed source. It has to all be done from scratch.
