Hi,
Just got an MVP. For the most part I'm very impressed with it and the way it works with GB-PVR from a 1Ghz PC that is accessing an EPIA 5000 TV card and folders. I have a number of small problems though, if someone knows the answer to these it would be appreciated:
1. Hauppauge MVP settings (before I started using the GBPVR dongle) says RGB detected when I first powered it on. When I go into standby and turn it back on settings is now showing composite - RGB is not available in the list. It still looks like RGB, I think. I'm guessing its just a software fault but that the actual unit is still using RGB. Is this a common problem - I have revision D3A.
2. I get a green/purple wavy line at the bottom of any screens. When I use the MVP positioner plugin it just truncates the bottom of the GBPVR screen. The last 2 inches of the screen remain black with the wavy line. I don't mind it being at the top of the screen rather than the middle but its the green line I don't like. I realise that this is a TV related problem but if I could just move the entire MVP screen down a few lines that would clear the problem. Is there any way to do this please?
3. Sometimes my connection is dropped but it seems to be after I use a particular plugin so I'll monitor that one.
4. Cannot get Live TV to work but this is probably due to my configuration: PC upstairs running GB-PVR MVP server, PC downstairs which actually has the TV card in it and the video and music folders. I can watch TV that is being recorded if I watch it like a pre-recorded video but nothing appears if I try it from Live TV.
By the way GBPVR is quite responsive from a 1Ghz athlon that is streaming files from the EPIA 5000 PC. Running GBPVR server on the EPIA itself, as was expected, is very slow - about 5 seconds per button press - but it does work so I'm impressed!
Cheers
