The failures started earlier with the first EPG update

2020-08-18 05:01:34.079 [DEBUG][23] Unexpected error on DVB-T put_TunerRequest: 0x8000FFFF

Although NextPVR could handle this error better I still think based on the fix it that there was anything NextPVR could do.

Thanks Martin

So this is an HDHomerun firmware issue then?

What do you think my options are?  I don't want to cycle the power to the HDHomerun on a regular basis, nor reboot the server either.

I could stop/start the NextPVR service every night though that's not really worked before.

Thanks.

Looking at the put request error there are several examples from other users here on the forum with similar results, NextPVR gets no signal after the unexpected error code is received. Other than ensuring you have the correct firmware and Windows software components not much to suggest other then the previous comment to get the HDHR logs. You may find that the BDA layer doesn't even try to connect to the device which could lead to issues on the physical network.

Note in the latest firmware you can select NextPVR as the source, previously that could cause problems.

I've had another failed recording and live TV has packed up again.

From the attached logs, nrecord.log.1, the recording seems to start on time:

2020-08-29 15:45:00.237 [DEBUG][9] Looking for recording directory with most space available

though the .ts file is empty when I look at it in the recording directory.

Live TV via Kodi also fails:

2020-08-29 17:24:19.522 [DEBUG][40] Live TV handle: 0x20000C
2020-08-29 17:24:19.522 [DEBUG][40] Started live stream for timeshift
2020-08-29 17:24:19.522 [DEBUG][40] RollingFile.Open(C:\Users\Public\Videos\live-Sky News-25.ts) ..
2020-08-29 17:24:19.526 [ERROR][40] Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

The HDHomerun logs show (note in GMT not BST so an hour offset from NPVR logs):

20200829-14:45:00 Tuner: tuner0 streaming rtp to 192.168.1.20:49649
20200829-15:35:05 Tuner: tuner0 rtp stream ended (usage timeout)
20200829-16:24:19 Tuner: tuner3 streaming rtp to 192.168.1.20:61840
20200829-16:24:46 Tuner: tuner3 rtp stream ended (stop request)
20200829-16:24:51 Tuner: tuner3 streaming rtp to 192.168.1.20:61845
20200829-16:25:18 Tuner: tuner3 rtp stream ended (stop request)

Any more thoughts, anyone?
Thanks

That looks like a fail to lock type error.

If you use the SiliconDust hdhomerun_config_gui.exe program can you use 125255BD-3 (device 3) and find any channels?

I've not used hdhomerun_config_gui.exe before but using this command:

"hdhomerun_config_gui.exe ... scan /tuner3"

I get this (snipped, as all the frequencies give the same response):
...
SCANNING: 546000000 (eu-bcast:30)
LOCK: none (ss=7 snq=0 seq=0)
SCANNING: 538000000 (eu-bcast:29)
LOCK: none (ss=7 snq=0 seq=0)
SCANNING: 530000000 (eu-bcast:28)
LOCK: none (ss=8 snq=0 seq=0)
...

I don't know how to use it with eu-bcast but I assume that is dvb-t and you should be able to pick a channel with it. Do tuners other than 3 work?

I've also just rebooted my server, which usually sorts these issues out at least temporarily, and live TV is still not working.

I've also just tried with ffplay.exe and get an HTTP 503 error:

I've not had this kind of issue with HDHomerun before.  Weird.

Have you tried rebooting the HDHomeRun? ie, removing the power temporarily
