Somehow when I play something from my video library GBPVR loses focus and the remote stops responding. If i pull out my mouse and click it gets focus and the remote starts working again.

What type of file is it? If its an MPEG2 file, an you're configured to used VMR, and you're using the Cyberlink video decoder (or it's you system default), then you can get this. If this is the case, try switching to Overlay or changing decoders, or configuring the Cyberlink decoder to EnableVMR9.

Sorry, i should've mentioned that. It happens when I play divx files. I'm using the divx6 codec from divx.com. This is a fresh install of GBPVR last week, I haven't customized video playing - I have whatever the installer does by default.

Old thread, I know, but just in case anyone is still interested... The culprit is the Divx Toolbar. The workaround is to disable the toolbar using the "Toolbar Toggle Tool" from the Divx website; however, you will not be able to access the advanced features of the Divx media, which usually doesn't matter.

To download, go to: http://download.divx.com/divx/supporttoo...leTool.exe

Anyway to have Windows Media Player play the Divx files instead? I know if you install one of the XVid codecs that you can play those avi files in Windows Media Player instead of having to use the Divx player.

The loss of focus happens even with 3rd party players, because the toolbar program steals focus, even if it is not showing. Another alternative would be to use a codec such as ffdshow (do a web search), instead of using the Divx codecs. FFdshow actually works better for decoding, however (of course) you cannot encode to divx with it... just for playing, though, it works great.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the toolbar remover and it works great now.

Hey on Windows 2003 the divx toolbar remover refuses its services (OS not supported). I found however that simply deleting or renaming the divxsm.exe in the windows\system32 directory does the same trick. My system does not get nervous doing so (no file not found errors or the like).
