I am in the process of converting an old machine into a secondary dvr with an old hdpvr rocket I have laying around. In any event, I remember seeing somewhere on the forums that npvr now supports an xmltv out feature. this would be helpful to integrate my secondary dvr with my primary. What is the url for the xmltv out. Thanks.

I wouldn't bother - that recently added xmltv feature is going to be removed in the next build. (can potentially cause issues with agreements to some EPG sources)

instead of removing it, why not just post a warning saying check your providers tos with the option to disable/enable it.

I recall you were an Emby user and do you think that prompt would really stop most Emby users?

Best solution is to request better epg support from the other DVR you use.

I am confused. You use emby as an example yet your emby plugin grabs epg data from npvr. Also, I run nextpvr on both systems.

It's a fair question. Originally I pulled the addon because of the SD concern among other things and I will now update my addon with my alternate solution which I have ready and will strip the SD metadata from the feed.

before you do this, please make sure there is a way to use the emby guide info with your addon or it will cripple your addon and most people will have to use the .m3u output.

edit: also, how will telling npvr to record a program through emby work.

edit2: also in emby under guide data setup it still shows SD as an option for the USA so I am not sure what the issue is.

"Don't ask don't tell" was appropriate here, so sorry. The EPG will be missing metadata from SD, Title Subtitle and Description, but you still will be able to schedule because NextPVR doesn't use that, but it will certainly be quite difficult, so scheduling via NextPVR will be better. Recordings will be ok. The free version does support recording too.

Also OTA EPG and XMLTV users will not be impacted.

Great question about the SD option in Emby since Emby knew they should have removed it when they were delisted as an approved app. The prime reason I pulled the add on original addon was Emby's lack of respect for other application's license. Now SD are blocking Emby at the source, https://www.schedulesdirect.org/

I guess the key would be to somehow use emby epg data with the nextpvr channel list.

Somewhere along the way I asked Luke about that and he said no. At time I was thinking for artwork but I am sure the same answer would apply now. It wouldn't help SD users outside US, UK and Canada.
