I have NTL analogue cable(co-ax), it doesnt require an external box, if I were to use a regular TV all I need to do is enter the channel frequencies supplied on the ntl.ie website and everything is done.
Is there any way I can just enter the frequencies and not have to scan?
If so in what format do the frequencies need to be? They are supplied in MHz i.e. RTE1=216MHz.

I'm not concerned about schedules or program guides, I just want to be able to watch TV in a window on my desktop as I work/study and on occasion record a show. Do I need to supply EPG data for GBPVR to work? or is there an option to leave it out?

I have a Theatre 550 tuner and am trying to find decent software to use with it. The PowerCinema app gives me a great picture, but the sound is nasty and the delay in channel changing is nuts.
With my old AIW and MMC I could either scan or use an editor to directly enter the frequencies, unfortunately MMC doesn't support the Theatre 550.

Any tips that would help me with GBPVR or the Theatre 550 would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can leave EPG out. Create a capture source, then add a "non-epg" channel. Enter the frequency in the channel number column. 216Mhz should be entered as 216000000 (I think :-))
If you need any help, you can start by looking at the wiki: http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki or ask here :-)

Thanks, I've browsed through the wiki but found myself a wee bit confused, I'll try again this evening and see how I get on.
