Hey guys,

Great Community - and great program Sub. I messed around for days trying to get MythTV going but I suck and couldn't get it to work, so I have turned to Windows and GBPVR.

I have evrything running well, guide, some extra plugins, live TV works well, I have done Record on Demand and it has worked and I have setup some programs to be recorded through the guide. Just wanted to also point out the setup took all of 15 minutes untill it was fully functional, yeah!

Now, my only real issue at this point is my IR Blaster. I have the following Hardware:

Starchoice Satellite Reciever
HTPC - (PVR-150 model 1045 with remote and connected IR Blaster, On Board sound out, Nvidia gf4 mx 400 for TV Out via Svideo)
Hitachi A/V Reciever
36" TV

So I start up windows fresh, IR.exe starts up in my startup group. I launch GBPVR and the remote works perfectly, all functions work as they should.

I program a recording for a different channel at a future time. Everything works well, GBPVR changes the channel on my Sat Reciever when the recording is to begin via the IR Blaster. Everything is still good untill the recording is done, and then the IR blaster completely locks up.

I can change things within the PVR software fine, the remote still responds, but the IR Tranciever that sits of the IR reciever on my Satellite STB dosn't work untill I exit GBPVR and restart IR.exe. I can reproduce this bug on a consistent basis, it happens evrytime GBPVR changes a channel to start a recording.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Try using the '.exe channel changer' instead, and point it at c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\HaupBlast.exe

ooOOOoo! Thanks sub I'll test that out tonight, appreciate your prompt reply - nice software by the way, I appreciate all your hardwork and sharing the project with us all.

I remember reading somewhere during setup that GBPVR would look after the blaster support natively without having to use ir.exe but didn't know where to turn that feature on.

Ok, I set that option but I still have to have ir.exe running in the tray for my remote to work. We'll see what happens.

Yes, you always need ir.exe running with the PVR150. The changed I suggested will make sure your IR Blaster doesnt stop working, but this has nothing to do with ir.exe.

There is an 'direct access to hauppauge remote' option, which allows PVR250/350 owners to not run ir.exe, but that is unrelated to the ir blaster, and obviously wont help you with your PVR150.

Thanks for the explanation sub. I tried this last night and it's still not working Sad When GBPVR access's the IR Blaster to change a channel when set to record a program, it changes and then the remote is useless untill I restart IR.exe.

This is throwing a real loop into being able to introduce my new technology to the family.... With 3 boys 8,10 and 12 and my wife - I need the remote to not lockup like this all the time. Otherwise I'm really enjoying your product.

Thanks.

Ähm... do you have a Mainboard with the nForce Chipset? Hauppauge has a "special Update" for nForce Users, which Remotecontrol is not working after ~30 Minutes...

Do you tried a driver-update?
