So I've just received a notice from my cable company that they are rearranging the channel assignments and also adding new channels to my lineup. This change will be taking place on October 8th. Assuming Zap2It is keen on the changes, how will GB-PVR handle the change? Will my EPG downloads be completely destroyed or will the transition be seamless?

It probably wont be tidy. All I can suggest is back up your database before and we'll sort it out at the time. It may just be a matter of updating a few channel numbers.

It's going to be more than just a few channels. Judging by the brochure they sent me it looks like 90% of the channels have been rearranged. Zap2It doesn't seem to be aware of the update either. Looks like I'll have to adjust my EPG settings to pull info on a daily basis once the tranfer date draws nearer...

Deleting and recreating the capture source after the event may be the easiest way to correct it.

Agreed. I think I'll just set the EPG update to 1 day for the time being and deal with the lack of recording info.

By the way if Zap2It isn't aware of a change in your channel arrangement you can contact them and they will get it updated.

Dap, in DC? It figures that I just get my PVR card and get things setup and then I get this brochure from comcast. Happy Happy Fun. Smile

Yep, did that. I posted on their forums but have yet to see a reply.

I'm hopeful that Zap2It won't skip a beat on this one. I was poking around on the Comcast website and I noticed that their channel lineup is powered by Zap2 it. *Crosses fingers*

I am in CT and our Comcast lineup changed on the 19th (I hate lineup changes). Zap2it was on top of the lineup change. I did have to delete my capture sources and reload them because both the new channel lineup and the old channel lineup were both showing up in the GBPVR guide. However, all things considered, it was a pretty seemless transition.
