Only new here to the forums but thought I should keep issues separate instead of creating one big topic.

Having some trouble in how timeshifting is working. I often set the news to record at 6pm for instance and once I am ready to watch it (could be about 6:15pm) I then start the recording. Bonus of doing this is I can usually fast forward through most ads meaning no watching commercials (yay!).

When fast forwarding however, on reaching real time, the timeshifting seems to go whack where it starts to continue fast forwarding into the future for some odd reason. The expected behaviour I would think is once it reaches real-time it should just start playing as there is no more fast-forward available at that point however it still continues to persist. Manually pressing play resolves it just seems strange and thought I should raise this as a potential bug.

Actually I assume things are working fine unless you post the NextPVR and Kodi logs as described her https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help.

Thanks. It appears to be a buffer problem when you get to close to the end of file. There are a lot of errors in the file itself and Kodi makes a few attempts to read data but there are just errors or no data returned and it gives up.

Do you have the option of streaming by m3u8 instead of ts, to tell you the truth the HEVC/MP3 source is unusual even for IPTV so your provider's transcoder is suspect especially noting the quality of the feed.

Also maybe try disabling script.service.playbackresumer maybe it doesn't know about growing files.

Hey there,

Ah right, I'll have a go at adjusting that for the IPTV streams. We also have it happen on the HDHomerun HDHR3 tuners as well (not sure what they stream as into kodi) I don't think I can adjust the hdhomerun streaming type? hmm.

If you duplicate it with the HDHR post those logs. Also if you record to your c drive do you see it?

Thanks for waiting on me apologies, I go away for work quite a bit. Got back tonight and have got some more logs.

The Kodi log file was more then 5mb+ so have uploaded it here:

Haven't tried recording straight to C Drive - I can try that though if you reckon it may help

No problem, I've done testing here and in-progress recordings worked for me so it is not a global problem. Unfortunately you turned off debug logging the Kodi log is not much help this time. I suggest you turn it on via advanced settings https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Advanced to avoid the visual indication that it is enabled.

You also seem to have not included all the NextPVR logs they should go back further then the set you provided.

The reason that I wanted to change to C: drive was on the same machine Kodi should be playing recordings via the file system but it is using http streaming which indicated to me that Kodi can't see the M: drive

Ah no worries I've gone ahead and turned it on through the advancedsettings method as advised.

Would a symbolic link on the C Drive pointing to the M drive be sufficient? Only because the C drive isn't necessarily a very big drive as had only planned it to run the OS

Thanks again for your help. I will get some more logs for this, this afternoon

It doesn't have to be permanent.  Create a second directory just for the testing and see this works.  We are seeing if it is a physical characteristic.  Regular recordings can stay on the.m drive.  You can probably have 5 or 10gb free.
