Odd indeed - in sub's first reply he noted that at least some of them were working for him, so there seems to be something "weird" going on.
I might be tempted to put it down to some local machine problem if it wasn't the same in two separate NextPVR instances.

Yes, there are thousands of what could be easily extractable subtitles (if sub wants to add more functionality), though you'd have to watch out for a few potential issues like the "spill-over title" one you highlighted, or only extracting from "Subtitle text: Rest of the description" provided that "Rest of..." doesn't start with a lower-case letter, but does follow a space after the ":", and more if you also want to avoid subtitles like "Brand new series", etc!

yep, existing functionality was getting nearly every season/episode number in the three ts files you supplied. I added one more regular expression to cover a couple of different formats used on one of the channels, which weren’t previously captured.

Any ideas why that's not the case on either of my machines?

They're still missing loads (c. >1500) with the more basic formats like "(S11 Ep 5)" and "(S2, ep 23)" that should've been caught by the original pre-existing regex(es).

Sub if you run my sqlite script on his database you will see a lot are missing. It might be how you run it against the OTA data.

You're using the current 5.2.7 build of NextPVR right (and no old patches installed etc)? There is couple of odd things I can see in your database, which shouldn't be the case, and I'm not really sure how to explain why these things aren't working for you but are for me. Ultimately I may need to add some extra logging.

Unfortunately I've been away for most of week, and your ts files are too old now, so I can't load the listings any more to check these things here. Any chance you could collect some updated files?

Absolutely - no problem.

You're correct - both NextPVR instances are on version 5.2.7.220410
The docker instance (running on a Synology NAS) has been in place for quite a while and will have been "upgraded" (i.e. container re-created with newer images) a number of times through successive 5.x versions. The Windows instance is very new and was installed totally fresh around the start of this month with the then-current immediately prior version, and then upgraded.
(I'm fine to wipe and re-install if that's necessary to fix it, but haven't thought about trying that yet since it's affecting the brand new install anyway.)

In the shared folder at https://1drv.ms/f/s!AtsVBvATpsLhgYmeOlRbVRTn5Kl5H_c you can find:
- A 6-minute .ts dump (6 mins is usually enough to contain a full 7-day EPG for all channels on all frequencies).
- The npvr.db3 database and nrecord log file for each of the two instances, from after an EPG update done virtually simultaneously with the capture of that .ts dump.
- For convenience (mine as much as potentially yours), a .csv file dump of the EPG_EVENT table from each of those two db3 files

These were produced by:
1. Empty the EPG in both NextPVR instance
2. Restart both instances (at ~23:14 local time, to find in the logs)
3. Start 'Update EPG' in both instances (at ~23:16)
4. Start the .ts dump collection in parallel
5. After each EPG update has finished, and a while longer, take copies of npvr.db3 and nrecord.log from both instances

Examples of programmes with S/Ep data not being matched include: "Friends", "Grimm", "Hawaii Five-0", "Law & Order", "Stargate SG-1" & "Stargate Atlantis", "Tales Of The Unexpected", "The Chase", "The Lost Evidence", "Traffic Cops" ...

Just let me know if there's anything else I can provide or do to assist in troubleshooting.
Thanks, Steve
