Error - please help !!

Hi,
I am running windows 2003 server with a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-t, and have installed the software that comes with the card (winTV 2000) and also the gbpvr software (after trying a few others that failed badly someone recomended this one). After setting it up it all worked fine, until I pressed a button on the remote control. The software hung so I restarted it. Now I cannot watch Live TV, every time I click the "live TV" button it gives me 2 errors (the first one may just be because I have the c++ debugging packages installed - on xp I probably wouldnt see the first message).

on abort or retry the software ends, on ignore I recieve the second error

As I say - the software was all working fine (for about 10 mins !) and WinTV200 still works fine. I have tried re-installing both wintv and gbpvr and there is no difference.

Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone suggest how to fix it ?
if logs are needed can someone tell me which ones to post

ok - I seem to have solved that problem, but have another one
(in case anyone else is searching these forums for the same problem as I had you have to uninstall the gbpvr software, delete all the leftover files, and registry entrys and then restart - after installing it again it seems to work).

My new problem is that the video is jumping - its not a low spec pc (its a p4 2.8Ghz, 1GB PC3200 ram 2 x 120GB + 1x250GB). I had the same problem with the origional software and someone told me my graphics card was rubbish (it was a radeon 7000) so I have borrowed a better card to try it on (a geforce 4 ti4200) and the WinTV software now runs fine (uses about 40% cpu).

The gbpvr software uses around 5% cpu and the video skips more frames than it plays. I cant think that it requires a better graphics card than this one does it ?

What video decoder are you using? Try some others.

Are you playing back the files from the same hard drive as the operating system is on?
Have you DISabled your antivirus on the recordings folder(s)?

I have tried the following video decoders and none are better than others (it still only outputs about 0.25 seconds of video/audio every second)
DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder
Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder
Nero Video Decoder

Are there any other ones that I could try ? its not a minor problem either - the video doesnt even show up for around 20 seconds, and then it refreshes 1 screen every few seconds (the audio plays at about the same time the screen refreshes)

I have disabled all my antivirus, and also tried disconnecting from the lan so there is no file transfer to the server from other people. Also I've tried disabling the windows indexing service.
I also tried setting windows to prioratise programs, rather than background services, that didnt do anything. The CPU is only at about 5% so I cant see it being anything to do with load.

This is live tv I'm talking about rather than normal video files (normal files from the hdd are fine) its only on live tv. I have tried changing the livetv buffer drive to the other drives and it makes no difference.

I have also done a bit more searching and found out about a directx 9.0c bug, so have followed instructions and replaced my quartz.dll file with one from 9.0b. This also hasnt helped.

The file gbpvr.exe-native.log is attached to this post - there are other log files too (gbpvr.exe-native-#.log - where # is 1, 2 and 3) did you need them too ?

I would guess one of the software components installed your computer which I've highlighted below is causing the problem:

I've uninstalled a codec/filter pack that I had installed which I think has removed them from the system now. I have again gone through and tried different video decoders and none work any better than others. I have attached the log file again.
