Black Screen/System Hangs When Playing Video Being Recorded

Hi,

This is my second day with the GB-PVR and I absolutely love it (I am running it on an ATI Wonder Elite / Theater Pro 550 Card with Cyberlink Video/SP MPEG2 Decoder).

I have a problem though with playing a video that's being recorded (in pending folder of Recordings menu). When I play the video, I get a black screen and the application hangs. I am required to kill it. It's quite strange. This is what I see in the GBPVR.exe.log file:

When I try to open the file with Windows Media Player, it says the file is in use by another application and I can't open it. Has anyone experienced this problem? What did they do to resolve it?

Let me know if this means anything to you.... the file already in use portion is what i'm concerned about.

Its because you're trying to use the Cyberlink decoder with VMR. By default the Cyberlink decoder is not compatible with VMR, unless you add some specific registry settings.

You options are...

1) switch to using Overlay instead of VMR
2) or, use a different video decoder
3) or, add the registry settings. I cant remember the exact details, but google for "cyberlink EnableVMR9"
