uidroid installed but server online false

I'm running NPVR4.2.5 on Windows 10 (up to date) and have installed uidroid 1.5.8 on my "android tv". It tells me
"Installation information Version: 1.5.8
Donator: false Server: 192.168.1.243 Online false"
I can select the server, but nothing else is happening.
I can access npvr on the tv via the web.

What have I missed?

Well, at this point you are running NextPVR that is 2 major versions old. So that is definitely not going to be helping matters any.
I don't recall whether or not odrioid even supports v4 at all. Even if it does, there are some significant features which would not be supported.

So, the first thing that you should do is get your server updated to the current version.

No uidroid does not support v4, there were too many improvements to try and provide the backward compatibility.

Kodi pvr.nextpvr should work up to Matrix and the UI client is available in knewc but uidroid provides a better experience IMO

I think sub's Android client also might work.

I think that you meant v4 not v5. uidroid definitely works with v5.

@smiffypm: Martin does offer a couple of alternative options, but I would concur that uidroid is going to be your best option both for easy of installation/use and feature support. So, I still suggest that your first step should be to update to current NextPVR.

Finally updated (didn't realise it was a complete rearrangement) and got it working on the server and the web client on another pc, but the uidroid screen is still exactly the same, i.e.
"Server: 192.168.1.243 Online false"

Are you still running v4? If so turn it off and try again. If you are in dual port mode that will save the new versions port and you can restart v4 if you must.

Its saying 5.2.7(220410) now. V4 is gone.

If you hit scan servers do you see it? If so select it and hit back.

I am surprised you didn't install v6.

The WELCOME page tells me that 6 is available, but when I ran the installer it installed V5.
On the TV, the server is correct.
