Upgrading from NPVR4 to NPVR6

The logging is there now.

There must be a slight difference to the name or path. The HaupBlast.exe file is not found in the location it's looking.

ie, check "Program Files" vs "Program Files (x86)", and "NextPVR" vs "NPVR" etc.

It's not lying. I'm not sure if you've since tweaked things slightly, but at that specific time, when it went to use run "‪C:\Program Files\NextPVR\HaupBlast.exe" Windows told NextPVR the file did not exist.

The funny thing is that your earlier example used a different path, so I suspect you've got some channels set differently to other channels.

Be careful to read the text at the bottom of the popup when using 'Update Channels' to change the blaster setup. ie, if you've clicked on a channel (or multiple channels), then change will only apply to those selected channels. If you got no channels selected, it'll update all the channels. Ultimately, you'll want to update all the channels, so they all behave consistently (or be very careful which channels you choose when running your tests).

And that's exactly what I did - update all the channels. I did read that bit of feedback. 

I get the fact that the latest log isn't lying, but then again, neither are the file location images I provided.

I'm happy to take a look at another log to see if it gives any better results.

Ultimately though, if I cant rely on Windows to say a file doesn't exist, I'm just going to shrug my shoulders and give up helping. I can't think of any reason that might be, but you could maybe look at anti virus/malware type utilities, in case they're hiding executables etc. If you're running these types of utilities, maybe you've forgotten that you unblocked NextPVR v4 in the distant past, and need to do something similar for v6.

It does change channels.

Since it seems you've updated the NextPVR database to use "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\HaupBlast.exe", did you try this test from a command prompt with that executable? If it is (for some reason) an anti-virus or Windows protection feature blocking it, maybe you'd get more information trying to command manually.

Using that path - \Program Files\NextPVR\HaupBlast.exe - that does change the channels. I don't know what to express here, something is not right
with either the program or the computer itself. It's an almost bare-bones Windows 10 PC with not a lot of items on it. Seems as if both NPVR versions 4 and 6 use the same IR blaster engines, doesn't make sense why 4 works but 6 doesn't.  

Fortunately I still have a good working version 4 here, so I'll revisit this later this year.

Ok so I'll revisit this thread after a few months.

Finally have NextPVR 6 working. What a trial and error show it is, though.

For starters, I upgraded the core hardware within the computer that runs NextPVR (MB, Processor, Memory.) The original Colossus Card still remained, though.

Removed version 4, installed version 6.

Was able to download the guide, and even have the blaster working by referencing the directory containing the haupblast.exe file. I was even able to download and view the channel logos, which is a nice little touch.

Copied the config.xml and npvr.db3 from the old installation to the npvr-data folder. That's where the troubles resumed. I was able to regain the recordings and the schedules, but the IR blaster stopped working. I even lost the channel logos, and I wasn't able to re-download them.

Did a complete removal of 6, reinstalled. Confirmed that the blaster was working afterward. On this particular try, I only copied the npvr.db3 file. Would you know it, the IR blaster stopped working again.

So I had to remove and reinstall the 6 program one more time. But on this instance, I kept the personalized settings instead of doing a full removal. After that, the IR blaster started working along with everything else. Bliss, finally.

I gotta tell you guys, this thing works, but after what I had to go through with it, it's definitely a house of cards. Shouldn't be this tricky.
