As per https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64182
I have short 24 hour epg.  But for what I do have, it doesn’t seem to populate between 0:00 and 12:00.

Attached are the current logs.  I think I have a manual epg update every 5 hours.

I’m currently on the docker container for installation.  As far as I know timezones and dates are correct on the machine (Proxmox container).

If needed I can post the epg url details.

If it's a free IPTV source, let me know the urls and I'll try it here.

Alternatively, download the xml for guide data, and zip it up, and I'll try it.

Here's a couple of them of them:
https://iptv-org.github.io/epg/guides/uk...epg.xml.gz
https://i.mjh.nz/Kayo/epg.xml.gz
https://i.mjh.nz/SkySportNow/epg.xml.gz

For local nz (via hdhomerun I use the eit)

Hmm I just noticed over night today, it did actually have entries for 00:00 - 12:00 - which I hadn't seen too much before.   I wonder if it's a timing issue.   I couldn't get the inbuilt process to work - 02:44:00,01:31:00,13:35:00 (in guide) - I never say it do anything.  So implemented a script to update it via cron.

It is probably a case of the IPTV provider making a new xmltv file every day, for 24 hours of listings, and you just happen to be loading it half way thorough that 24 hours.

If you've got a specific channel you think should have listings, but you're not seeing them in NextPVR, let me know which channel, and which of the urls it came from, and I'll check it.

Actually I think it must have taken a few days to stabilise. As I am seeing 24 hours of listings now.

Could you see in my logs the epg updating according to the guide settings? 02:44:00,01:31:00,13:35:00
Or was it only triggered on the 5 hourly mark?

Unfortunately I can't tell. There is a lot going on in the logs you posted, so a lot of noise, leading to the logs only covering an hour and half in the middle of the night, and not enough to show if multiple EPG updates were happening, and what times.

Is that because I've been running a stream most of the day (it's bathurst week, and been running old coverage).....so it's cycling through the logs read quick.

In the old days, I thought nrecord was just the recording service and epg information.....and all streaming (npvr log) but newa was it's own log as well? Looks like everything is all in one log now.

In pre-v5 versions, the web app was a more external thing. These days it's more tightly integrated into the backend.

That said, the logs are mainly just full because streaming to the web app is pretty noisy. It could do with a lot of that logging being removed these days. Streaming to clients that do native playback are less noisy.

For the EPG update times, you'll see a "Requesting wake up for 'EPG-UPDATE'" message each time one of the EPG updates completes. If you got enough logs for a day, you should see your three times listed etc.
