Have an old (2009~2012) Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000 PCI card that support DVB-T, DVB-S and DVB-S2. It was working fine for NextPVR in my PC running Windows 11 Pro.
In Windows 11 Device Manager this card showed as "Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Hybird Tuner/Demod".
I have installed Ubuntu 20.04 HWE to replace the Windows 11 to the PC and followed the instructions from https://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/...linux.html to setup the TV card for Ubuntu.

It looks like Ubuntu recognizes the TV card by cli:
$ dmesg | grep -i hauppauge
...
[    4.360238] cx88xx: subsystem: 0070:6902, board: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000 DVB-S/S2/T/Hybrid [card=68,autodetected], frontend(s): 2
...

However when I run NextPVR > settingg > Devices  It picked up 4 'unavailable' devices:

DVB-T adapter0/frontend1 (Conexant CX22702 DVB-T)(unavailable)
DVB-S adapter0/frontend0 (Conexant CX24116/CX24118 DVB-T)(unavailable)
DVB-C adapter0/frontend1 (Conexant CX22702 DVB-T)(unavailable)
IPTV IPTV Device

Guessing DVB-T/S/C are related to Hauppauge card. They are unavailable and failed to scan channels

NextPVR Log attached

Can you please advise if this old TV card still work in Ubuntu?

What does find /dev/dvb show. Detecting the usb device doesn't mean the firmware has loaded.

Also after a reboot NextPVR can start before the device is ready. On the settings general page you may wish to disable the check on startup after rescanning devices which might tenable them.

I wan't find not ls but that still shows the base is completely missing

Assuming you installed the firmware shown on the link above you will need to look at sudo dmesg and sudo jounalctl to see if there are driver issues.

Clearly this is not good

[ 4.552879] tveeprom: Encountered bad packet header [00]. Corrupt or not a Hauppauge eeprom.

but do you see any message before that which might explain why, ie missing firmware.

Do you have /lib/firmware/dvb-fe-cx24116.fw if not get it from here https://github.com/CoreELEC/dvb-firmware...cx24116.fw

It wont be because of lack of Linux support.

now the tveeprom error disappeared:
