I saw you worked round that one in the batchfile (which i wouldnt have know where to start with!Wink

Unfortunately after a full XP reinstall the problem is definately between my mobo and windows.
I still cant wake the #### thing with a scheduled task, im confident it is supported my the motherboard as it has 'wake' options for HHD, keyboard, usb activity etc and i can wake my main PC fine. Also the 'wake the computer to run this task' radio button is present again in Scheduled Tasks

Im baffled to say the least and am finding it hard to find any other forums which mention the same problem.
Might have to hope Acorp, the mobo manf can tell me anything but i wont hold my breath!

Does the bios have a setting like "wake on alarm" or "wake on RTC" or "wake on real time clock"? I also heard that sometimes when these settings are there, you need to select a specific setting like "everyday" or the opposite "only once" for this waking up to occur. Just paly around with the bios settings!

I have it set up now to 'wake on alarm' in the morning which works fine, but ive tried changing all the relevant settings and sought advice from Acorps manual and website (which is awful!Wink
it makes me think the BIOS is either faulty or simply not very compatible with Windows ACPI function.

Not to worry it is not important enough to stress too much about!

Thanks for the advice

Are there any bios updates? Could be a bug which they have fixed?

Colin.

No, Acorp have stopped supporting older boards (Acorp 7KMM1) and there is nothing on Driverguide.com unfortunately.

I wonder if i can present my next problem.....!

Motherboard problems aside im using the above program for when i resume from hibernate manually or on a timer from the BIOS settings (6am in the morning where it updates EPG etc).

I decided to use Girder instead of the Happauge IR software cos GB-PVR still works when not in focus, however i needed to delete the IR line from the batch file and replace it with something that now stops Girder as its returning the 'REBOOT' error message, i presume because Girder is using the PVR?

the location of the executable is 'C:\Program Files\Girder\Girder.exe' but nothing i try seems to shut it down

What command should i be using to stop it?

I cant answer your girder question, but in case you didn't know - you can also turn on the 'use direct access to hauppauge remote' to allow GB-PVR to function with the hauppauge remote even when it doesnt have focus.

I thought that was the case - im sure i was using this sucessfully before i reinstalled, but it didnt seem to work afterwards. The only difference i could come up with was the installation of Girder!

Only one thing can have direct access to the Hauppauge. First thing that tries, gets access. Either IR.EXE, or Girder, or GB-PVR.

Kill Girder and IR.exe and GB-PVR should have no problems using direct access.
