Windows 10. I backed up the xml & db files first. After installation the 'new' version, ALL I got in my Windows app list is the NextPVR Client and NextPVR Web App. That's it, no folder, no recording service icon, just the client app for this PC and a link to the web version. The 'new' client app says it's VERSION 4.2 5.

1. I can't record a show without the recording service
2. The whole reason I uninstalled 4.2.5 is because it wasn't working with Kodi's newer versions (said I needed version 5.2 or higher).

What is the latest version of NextPVR?

Now it won't work on Kodi AND I can't record. Can anyone help??

All setup is in the web app now, did you read through the wiki? A lot is explained there.

Thank you, I'll do that now. I don't remember it being so convoluted the first time I downloaded and set up. I hope the wiki has clear instructions!

Honestly, it's much easier to setup these days than it was in the past.

I thought I did have it set up, but there was no recording service. Before, whenever I rebooted, I could click on the service icon to restart service. There was no option for that. I'm doing it all again, but it looks like the same install. I'm using the web app for setup, devices, channels, etc. Hopefully the recording service will be available after all is done. I'm using a Hauppauge quad tuner and Schedules Direct if that matters.

The wiki even attempts to provide potential guidance for that https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/upd...on-Windows  however that was based on migration that was supposed to happen 4 years ago (5 if you count the public beta) so it is not as straight forward now.  There was a possibility of some tuners not working now even more won't but some will.

Well, after a lot of swearing, and several reboots, I'm up and running. Hopefully the Kodo clients will work with this new online version of NEXTPVR. Frankly, I liked it the other way, when I changed something, it changed. But, everything changes. Thank you for directing me to the wiki!

I know the client on the PC still says 4.2.5 after the new install, and the server appears to be web based, so is that v6? I'm too aggravated to try it on Kodi tonight. I'll revisit it tomorrow!

If you upgraded 4 years ago each version upgrade would have been as easy as in v4. You just delayed the pain, but it was necessary as it was a huge upgrade behind the scenes.

Did you upgrade the client shortcut to the new location? C:\Program Files\NextPVR\client\NextPVR.exe it is still available you don't need the web player.
