Okay, I need some help determining if my setup will work out:

I have a PC that I am going to put a PVR-350 in, and use as the gbpvr box. I want to then connect this via the 350's TV-out to the tv, (i should be able to watch TV on the TV like that, right?)
In another room, I plan to hook up a mediamvp to the system and use it to watch tv there.
I would like to have gbpvr only active on the TV-out, and not on the main display of the PC, so that I can still use it for basic internet browsing and word processing.

Is this all possible?

While I honestly appreciate your response, could you be a little more explicit about how to go about this?

you put the pvr350 card into a free pci slot, you plugin all the plugs, you turn your machine on you install gbpvr, plug your mvp into your network, you turn it on. its not rocket science.

So it does all of this right out of the box?

pretty much, once everything is installed (gbpvr i mean) and setup. for the 350 output all you have to do is set hardward decoding to "350" in the gbpvr config app. not sure about mvp setup thou (dont have one).

If you need more detailed setup info, you can find it in the wiki:

And if you like to use the pc for other stuff, start gbpvr minimised and don't use the ir.exe that came with your pvr350, but use "direct access to IR receiver" (or similar wording) on the misc tab in the configuration app. This means gbpvr will start a bit slower, but you can always control gbpvr whether it has focus or not.

BTW: this appears to only work with silver hauppauge remote (35 buttons or so), not the newer 45 buttons remote. If you have the latter one, maybe we can swap Wink )
