StreamMaster is from the creator of Xteve.
It is a m3u proxy that emulates HDhomerun tuners for software such as Plex etc.
I believe in streammasters preferences when you setup a source, you can specify how many streams per tuner.
(I believe the default is 1)
eg. When I setup streammaster, I fed it the NextPVR m3u channel data URL that NextPVR generates, which included My two Hauppauge DVB-T tuner cards, which are dual tuners, so I set the stream limit to 4. (2 per tuner)
Not sure what the other user means by backend, as in my use case, NextPVR was the backend, Streamaster is in the middle, and Plex would be the frontend.
