I use a DirecTV Tivo as my only source. There is a lag in the playback that makes it impossible to skip commercials. Well, you can skip the commercial, but when you see your show back on and push "Play" it takes quite a while to stop the FF, and resume playing. I have to hit the Instant Replay button 4-5 times to get back to where the commercial ends. This didn't happen until I installed .94.13. The other version was exactly like a regular TV. No lag at all. Which setting controls this?

Thanks

To be quite honest, I dont know what you're trying to ask. What you've written doesnt really make sense to me.

I just started using GBPVR with Directv Tivo so I think I know what he’s getting at.
He might be referring to the delay between the video in & what is shown on LiveTv.
I think it’s 5 minutes behind?
I set up a manual recording, switched to LiveTV to watch that recording & was trying to tell TIVO to send the recording to VCR & I thought that either my remote was not working or my Tivo was locking up because nothing was happening on the screen.
I felt a little silly when I remembered there is a delay.
I think he wants to eliminate the video buffering to the HD?

What video buffering are you talking about? The buffering done in the Directv tivo?

If you've viewing live preview mode tv in GB-PVR, then its showing tv pretty real time (add a half second buffering if you are using encoder pass-through).

Ok, sorry I wasn't clearer. I'll try again. GBPVR is buffering 4-5 seconds of video from my DirecTV Tivo unit. This unit has the ability to FF through commercials. When a commercial comes on you hit the FF button and speed through the commercials. When you see your show come back on you hit play and the unit starts playing at normal speed again. With GBPVR's buffering it is impossible to stop the FF at the correct place. What I want to do is to use GBPVR with NO buffering at all. I've tried what I thought the correct setting is but have had no luck. So....exactly which setting will turn buffering off completely?

Thanks

Sounds like you're in timeshift. When you're in timeshift mode, yes there is a few seconds of buffering. You cannot change this.

If you're in live preview mode, then there is no buffering. Live preview mode is not available on MVP/XCard/PVR350.

Are you talking about hitting the FF button on the directv tivo? You shouldnt be doing this when watching GB-PVR. Why dont you just plug your directv tivo into the TV and watch it that way if thats what you want to do. I'm not surprised you're having the problems you describe.

Ok. Where is the toggle(?) that selects Live Preview Mode, or Timeshift mode? I see in the configuration panel under misc a entry called Live Preview Mode. Both boxes are checked. Also under the Playback tab I have Live TV Preplay delay set to zero.

I have a PVR150

If I had a TV in here, I might do that. However I use my card as a capture source for movies recorded on the Tivo. BTW, gbpvr worked great until I installed this new version so unless the author made a change it's just a matter of getting gbpvr setup correctly.

Thanks

No, I've made no changes to live TV support in this most recent release.
