I'm still in testing phase and most recordings I've made playback fine. Some give a few seconds of audio/video  then I get a popup ERROR_CODE_RECORDING_FAILED

It seems to be recordings from some channels but recordings from other channels don't do this.

I've included logs - the show which is failing is called Outrageous and channel is U&Drama which is on a different multiplex to the shows/channels that are working.

Cheers,

Brian

PS - Outrageous has recorded fine and plays OK connected to localhost in my browser.

Logs need to be zipped and under 2MB otherwise an external link is required.

uidroid uses h/w for playback without remuxing so if your boxes specific h/w can't handle it there will be a decoding error. I am surprised with your error message from the API since it shouldn't know it is recorded I expect the real error is ERROR_CODE_DECODING_FAILED.

In general I would recommend remuxing (not transcoding) NextPVR recordings if this is a common problem. It is fast and mp4 or mkv containers play much better. If it is only certain channels you can tweak your post processing batch file.

Sorry Martin, my bad. DECODING not RECORDING. I've also worked out the file size limit for attachments - using the web browser to zip was creating files just over 2MB.

It's currently 30 degC in my nerd room and my brain is melting. I'll check my Android box for playback settings. My new npvr machine will hopefully be up and running in the next day or so. I always used to convert recordings on my old system for playback on the PCH so I'll probably do that anyway. Thanks.

Cheers,
Brian

Outside it was in the upper 30's here and I was out most of the day so I can understand. There likely won't be any Android settings, this is h/w level decoding and each box will be different.

You can't go wrong using a remuxed mp4 You might be able to send me a a link to a 1 or 2 minute recording that fails to see if I can tweak the software reader (mediax) the uidroid uses.

I know there are examples somewhere on the forums but I can't seem find them at the moment (maybe because of my illness).

Could you post a working example for me please because recently .ts recordings of the TVNZ news are way out of audio sync via uidroid and the Chromecast but are fine when played on the pc with MPC

Could you send a link to a video first, I'd like to check why uidroid might be having this issue. Normally a remux is for skipping and decoding issues not audio timing. The Chromecast is not a recommended client for uidroid so I like to check some others as well as my Chromecast. The mjh URL's are generally player friendly.

Here is a link to last nights recording

https://mega.nz/file/vQ5yUQgT#LBQ3LMiH0J...aV_entbgjM

this was recorded via satellite & has the out of sync audio issue when I watched it last night.

And yes this could be a CCWGTV issue because recently the CC wouldn't even play proper .mp4 files without bring up a Not Supported format (or something like that message) for ones I knew it had played in the past... after a full (change the USB hub for another one etc.) reboot of the CC those files now play fine again.

Sorry I though you just used mjh links and this is a high quality recordings. News broadcasts are always good for testing lipsync and it plays fine here on my current test machine and the CCWGTV. Is there a specific time where you feel it is the most noticeable?

I'd check the network. If you are running NextPVR 7.0.2 make sure you are running the patch for the UI client memory leak.

It is very noticeable right from the start which is The Chase... maybe more noticeable as I have subtitles on also.

No I am still using the old version (which I have been using for a long time without audio sync issues) of NextPVR.
Oddly enough both the TVNZ recordings (one from satellite & one from DVBT both recorded at the same time) now have the sync issue but the TV3 News (recorded from satellite at the same time) is fully in sync
