Hi,
In Kodi Omega, with the standard NextPVR Client 21.3.2 installed, if I schedule a recording from the guide using the Record option on the context menu or hitting record on the remote I get a single recording request. A timer is correctly setup and the recording entry appears as a one-time recording in the NextPVR scheduler tab.

If I then try to change the timer in Kodi to a series, by using the Edit Timer context menu option, a Kodi dialog opens allowing me to change the option to a series, and if I do so the existing timer (and Scheduled entry in NextPVR is deleted but the replacement recurring timer does not get created.

Here is a short youtube video recording of the steps I am taking:

There is no discernable error in the Kodi logs, and I have attached the NextPVR logs as is typically requested.

If I use the create timer function when there isn't already a recording in NextPVR, no error occurs and the correct recurring recording is created.

This seems to be an issue with the delete/recreate workflow.

Thanks for any help.

Technically there is no method of changing a one-off recording to a recurring recording in the NextPVR API. Instead Kodi should be doing a delete and then add. I do see an error on the add but I don't see the Kodi logs which I wish you had posted (debug logs for Kodi problems are also requested).

I will check this in Piers but likely will not backport it to Omega. It has worked in the past and I have to check why Kodi is getting the stale ID after the delete.

Thanks for the report.

Yes, it is trying to do a delete and then a new timer, but for some reason it errors after the delete during the new timer creation.
I went ahead and re-did the sequence again, this time with Shifting gears as the issue is readily reproducible.
The Kodi debug logs are attached to this message.

Let me know if you need me to test anything.

Tom..

Yes that is the same thing I see here. It's a timing issue, Kodi is asking for the new recurring value to be saved before it has re-loaded the timers.

2025-10-01 18:40:54.804 T:4768 debug <general>: AddOnLog: pvr.nextpvr: DoMethodRequest recording.delete&recording_id=883
...
2025-10-01 18:40:54.816 T:4768 debug <general>: AddOnLog: pvr.nextpvr: DoMethodRequest recording.recurring.save&recurring_type=3&recurring_id=883...

I will have to check to see if this is a core issue in Kodi, there shouldn't be a linked recording to a new recording. I did go back to Nexus and it failed there too so this probably hasn't worked for a while.

I have identified the issue in Kodi core and I am working with Team Kodi to see if we need to fix the addon or if they will fix core.

A fix to Kodi has been created https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/27293 and should be in Piers nightlies soon.

Thanks again for the report.
