Trimming IPTV list

Is there an easier way of trimming an IPTV list? I think this last time I chose three categories but I still end up with hundreds of channels when I really need only a few. I bring up the list where you can uncheck the boxes but there's no save function that I can see so the channels remain active? Is there an easy way to pick 5 or 6 channels?

Clicking the top box in a selection list toggles all of them off/on.

How do you make the change stay? I can unselect them all but when I go back they're all checked again.

Yes those list are meant for doing it all at once. Unticking all won't lose what you already saved but it also won't update existing.

However managing the large subscription IPTV lists is best handled by developers with subscriptions, since so much of what is done needs to be based on what the last lists (group list, channel list and channels in the xmltv) I have asked for users to provide me with some of this information and I just heard crickets. I think there might be a need for a refresh step for the URL's only without knowing how to match them up it is too difficult.

So for now maybe check out proxies like ThreadFin and Dispatcharr.

I have IPTVEditor, is that considered a proxy?

What information would you like, I can provide what I have.

I my case, I like old shows and some like Dragnet come on multiple channels and are sometimes used as fillers in odd times. So, I chose record all on any channel which creates a problem with a list has SD and HD channels. Now I'm recording it twice with a one connection list so I get no recording. So, I would like a way to pair the list down to in my case the SD channels since Dragnet wasn't filmed in HD so no need recording it that way.

Yes since you aren't using the provider m3u files I consider that a proxy. What I don't understand is why you have a problem, just make sure that you have 1 for your max connections in NextPVR so that it doesn't try to record twice.

Personally I wouldn't worry about HD vs SD, disk space is cheap.

Never thought to set 1 as my max connections, my list has 5 so I had set it to 5.
