i have the latest version of gbpvr, but cannot get it to work.

i have two twinhan dvb-t cards. both working fine with dntv live. I have tried all bda drivers, but currently have 1.2.1.9 installed.

i have several mpeg-2 decoders including elecard, and cyberlink (powerdvd6). it is currently set to the elecard one.

it fails on downloads the epg fine.
when mapping digital channels to epg channels it crashes with an unhandled exception although it does seem to pick up the signal (strength 81, quality 96)
"object reference not set to an instance of an object"
i have seen the faq on this issue, but no parts seem relevant (no plugins)

i have set the location to south of england, redruth, and the relevant bda driver.

below is the relevant part of the log...

What does the error message say?

Everything looks fine in that log.

"object reference not set to an instance of an object"

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

You could try editing config.xml and setting <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>. It might help.

that seemed to do it...

i have downloaded a later (also working driver - 1.2.2.4) and edited the bda.ini file which seems to be good as newer drivers all seem to have different names ...
[Twinhan DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=DTV-DVBT 878 Digital Tuner Filter
FILTER_CAPTURE=DTV-DVBT 878 Digital Capture Filter
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Output1

still not working fully yet, but oh so close!

thanks for your quick response,

Dan

I just wish they'd stop renaming their drivers. I'd created a section below for the next release:

[Twinhan DVB-T (v1.2.2.4 and up)]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=DTV-DVBT 878 Digital Tuner Filter
FILTER_CAPTURE=DTV-DVBT 878 Digital Capture Filter
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Output1

not sure why they keep changing the driver, all the latest ones seem to be the 878 variety...

have now mapped channels (roughly). i can see video working on both cards in the video channel window.

when i select live tv it comes up with this error again...

object reference not set to an instance of an object

i'm not sure which logs to post this time, but going by modification date:

If you've only got one capture device, and its recording, you cant watch live tv at the same time.
