Is there anyone out there who succesfully uses a Dutch EPG (I don't know if I got to have a special one for my cable provider which is UPC in Amsterdam).
I'am a complete newbie on XML.
I did read the thread on teletext converting but since Wintv nor VTplus work properly on my Hauppauge 250 I've given up on Hauppauges native appz, so no teletext on my HTPC.

cheers, arttext

Hi,

I am succesfully using the Dutch EPG with the use of XMLTV and crabbing it from TVGIDS.nl. Then I piont GBPVR to the file generated by XMLTV.

Hope this helps

I use this one:

http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/files...ml_new.zip

Very straight foreward. Hower you may find that you channel numbers are not correct. You can use the tuning assistant or search the forum for 'freqcopy" to get you channels right.

Thx 4 the advice guys, works great. Pretty straightforward indeed. [Image: smile.gif]
The channels were right already.
The only thing I still have to do is to automate the download with XMLTV automate, but I'm confident that will work too. [Image: smile.gif]

cheers,

I have windows run a scheduled task daily. It runs a batch file with the following content

Echo off
cls
rem ---------------------------------------------------------------
rem
rem batch file to be run by Windows scheduler
rem first TVGids_to_XML will run to grab Guide data from Internet
rem then GB-PVR EPG will be updated
rem total run time can be 2 - 3 hours
rem a log file called runupdate.log is created to review run progress
rem
rem ---------------------------------------------------------------
title Runupdate.bat
date /t > runupdate.log
time /t >> runupdate.log
echo Starting TVGids_to_XML >> runupdate.log
echo Running TVGids to XML......
C:
cd "\Program Files\TVGids_to_xml_new"
"C:\Program Files\TVGids_to_xml_new\TVGids_to_xml.exe"
echo TVGids to XML completed.
time /t >> runupdate.log
echo Completed TVGids_to_XML >> runupdate.log
echo starting GB-PVR EPG update >> runupdate.log
echo updating GB-PVR Program Guide
"C:\Program Files\devnz\GBPVR\GBPVR.exe" -OnlyUpdateEPG
echo Finished
time /t >> runupdate.log
echo Finished >> runupdate.log

you need Amontadillo's tvgids_to_xml program which is specifically for the Netherlands.

I'm using tv_grab_nl_wolf . It gets the listings including details in just a few minutes.

BTW HarR: thanx for the bat-file

Thx 4 al the feedback.
First I have to master running scheduled tasks with a batch file in Windows (never did that be4 [Image: smile.gif] But I'll get there, I already mastered alot of other new skills lately....

Question 1: From what I read I have to conclude that Amontillado's app only works with tvgids.nl and not with the wolf server, is that right?
Question 2: (and a stupid one for that matter)
Although I disabled all power save settings XP still comes after a time of non activity (when I watch live-tv for example) up with the user account screen (only 1 user because I had to install .net in order to be able to use GB-PVR.
And when that screen is up the Hauppauge remote doesn't work anymore.
I have to open XP again with a mouse (because the ATI Remote Wonder doesn't work on that screen ....)open XP again, there's GB-PVR screen again and I can use the Hauppauge remote again.
So the question is: How can I prevent XP after a time coming up with that user account start screen???

thx in adavance 4 all the help

cheers, arttext

You could try turning off the screen saver

THX, Remco, it's indeed the prob. It's so stupid that I didn't figure that out myself. [Image: sad.gif]

As for HarRr advice:
I noticed that the listings in TV-gids to xml are less elaborate than the ones I pick up with regular XMLTV. (i.e. CNN etc.)
Is there anyway to edit the batchfile (I just copied it, I don't know what how to edit it)

cheers,
