Is there a way to turn off/defeat the VMR9 check so that I can launch the GBPVR in remote-desktop/terminal services? (It tells me that I cannot launch because of the VMR9 filter. The thing is though if I launch GBPVR from the actual desktop and then login with remote desktop it works fine... it will run, it just won't launch).
I had been leaving GBPVR running all the time (I do not have a media-remote, and so only control this livingroom computer remotely, generally) but I think its RAM usage was contributing to stuttering in the actual recordings. (With everything shut down but the recording service, recordings come out much better.) It would be very nice to be able to launch the program without having to run back and forth.

TIA for suggestions.

I've used tightvnc and ultravnc, both are free and work well. However, if you use TightVNC's mirror driver which improves performance, you'll still get an error telling you that your display doesn't support VMR 9 just as the gbpvr UI, or at least, I do. Once gbpvr is up and running, I can remote in just fine.

If I find I need to start gbpvr's UI remotely, all I usually do is highlight gbpvr on my desktop, hit Enter to launch the icon and then click X on my VNC client to immediately exit. I've found doing so I disconnect before gbpvr complains about my lack of VMR 9 support, and then after a few seconds I can re-connect and be back working on the machine.

Just my two cents,
Tim
