I am having a problem. I can see the TV guide data, and I am able to select a show and watch it, however I am getting no sound through my speakers.

Windows MCE 2005 is being used as the OS. I went into control panel and sounds and played a few sounds to make sure speaker was connected properly and no errors, and the sound is working that way. The no sound appears to be a GBPVR issue, any ideas? Did I forget to do something?

By the way this is all coming in through a Dvico Fusion Lite 5 HDTV card, using a Radio Shack Digital Amplified Antenna for OTA ATSC signal.

You may need to installed a AC3 decoder like AC3Filter. Some audio decoders dont automatically make themselves known to Windows when it comes to AC3, so its possible Windows is unable to locate any AC3 compatible audio filters.

I went ahead and installed the AC3Filter, but I am still not getting any sound. Is there something special I need to do with it? The instructions said you just run it and it will work.

If that is the case, then the problem is something else.

By the way, when I was using the BeyondTV 4.0 beta software sound was working fine with the same setup I am using now. So, this appears to be a software issue.

Any other thoughts?

That was pretty much the only thing that came to mind.

Can you post your gbpvr.exe-native.log? Hopefully it'll contain some clues.

Well here is the text from my GBPVR.EXE-native.log file. I see there are 4 of them in my directory. I just pasted the most recent one.

By the way, my Net Radio functionality works fine (as does the sound with it).

These logs definitely indicate Directshow failing to find a compatible audio decoder, so it just does video. The couple of in the past that had this has resolved it by installing AC3Filter, but you've already tried this, so I dont know.

Yeah, its just a problem finding an AC3 compatible audio decoder. Net radio is just MP3, so your machine would have no problems with that.

First off, I'd like to thank "sub" for his wonderful software. I am new to PVRs on the PC, and GBPVR is excellent. It has a far superior interface than BeyondTV and SageTV.

I do have a problem with missing audio on certain channels, and I see that others on other forums have it also.

I have a Win-TV PVR-150.  I set it up using Beyond TV, and it worked fine, with sound and picture on all channels and on all recordings.  Then I installed an MPG editor, and I could not get sound on any channels 7 and above.  I installed SageTV, and had the same problem.  Then I installed GBPVR, and got the sound on all channels back.

Then I uninstalled SageTV, and the sound is gone again from Channels 7 and above.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled GBPVR to no avail.  Channels 6 and below play the picture with sound fine, but Channels 7 and above don't play sound.  When I am in timeshift mode in GBPVR or play back a recording from GBPVR, I hear static on Channels 7 and above.  The Hauppage software (WINTV2000) DOES work -- it has audio on all channels.

I also tried the solution that Hauppauge has on its site (make sure that the audio input line (Line In or Microphone) is not muted).

Thanks for anyone's help.  I am not an experienced Windows user but have many years experience on a Mac. I don't know how to do things like "Can you post your gbpvr.exe-native.log? " But I can do things if given some direction.
