Hi,
Is it possible to invoke the GBPVR gui using the Hauppauge remote?
I sometimes work on my PC that runs gbpvr and forget to enable the gui when I'm done. I only discover this when I return to the room that my TV is in and I have to run back to my PC to start the gui. It would be great if I could press a button on the remote and have the gui appear!
Thx,
JC

Its been discussed a few times in the past. If you use the forum search feature you should be able find a description of the changes you need to make to irremote.ini for this to happen.

If you are using the hauppauge IR, try to insert int the default section
Code:
GRNPOWER={run(c:\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe)}
you have to enter your real path for gbpvr.exe fileWink

Then restart IR application and it show be ok

I find it easiest to include the GBPVR directory in the Windows System Path then all you have to put is the name of the executable in the irremote file and not worry about any paths there.

Hmm, could I use this trick to trigger off a restart of the MVP server?
(MVP stability issues...)

i just made a custom command in plugins and call batch file to restart the mvp mode gui...[of course this only works if the mvp is communicating]
to run batches i had to specify cmd.exe [just type %comspec% when you hit browse, it will turn into the proper command] as the command and /c file.bat as parameters to get it to work, and the bat HAS to be in gbpvr dir..
seems to speed things up and frees memory when it's been running for a long time..
oh and in the batch file i just kill gbpvr.exe and then restart it with
gbpvr.exe -mvpmode
[i'm not using the auto-start function from config]
i seem to remember the shutdown plugin had an 'exit gbpvr' command before, that worked as well...but i don't see it there anymore?
