Maybe I missed something obvious but what is the remote control support like for GVPVR? Can I use any old USB/IR remote, er??

I'm getting ready to buy one of the Hauppaugge PVR cards for use with my XP Pro system - not sure which card yet.

I use a Microsoft Media Center (2005) remote happily. A lot of people seem to be using Girder and other programs to extend and customise remote fuctions.

Not all remotes will work. The remote packaged with my Twinhan card is not supported - although Hauppauge seems to be.

Search the forum you will see lots of talk on remotes.
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Most PC remote interfaces work by sending fake keystrokes to the foreground application. Any remote that does this should work with GB-PVR, but you'd obviously have to configure the correct keys to send.

The Hauppauge retail remotes are well supported.

Great, thanks for you replies.
I wanted to purchase the pvr retail bundle that includes the Hauppaugge remote, so if they are well supported, than that's very cool Smile

thanks again for the info
