My Videos & mov Not working

just downloaded the latest Qucktime to check out 'getemall' and 'my videos', but the mov files will not play. I added mov files to the pluggin setup but if i choose one of the trailers to play it downloads the info ok, but if i click Play, it just sits there for about 5 seconds then trhroughs me back to the trailers listing in My Videos?

I can click on one of the mov file in explorer and it will open in quicktime and start playing. I can even set My Videos to use an external player and tell it to use Quicktime and it will open in a seperate window.

you need quicktime alternative. not quicktime.

I installed QT Alternative and can get the trailers to play in the mediaplayer as well as in the Theater plugin, but they dont launch in My Videos. I have setup MediaPlayerClassic as the external player in the config. When I click 'PLAY MOVIE' from the popup menu, nothing happens. If I use 'PLAY VIDEO' the movie plays

Seperate question, is there a setting I am not seeing to have 'MediaPlayerClassic' close after its used. I hate having it sit there at the end of the show

trailers/"Play Movie" only works if you are using gbpvr to do the playback.

nah theres no way to close the external player after the file is done (unless it supports it via the command line), just set up your remote to close it, thats what ive done with powerdvd.

Hmm, ok, I unchecked and removed the externl player from config, but still no intros (VOB format files) or trailers (MOV format) play. I am using the PlayMovie choice from the popup menu as I beleive the docs said the intros and trailers only play from there.

The movie never starts playing.

looking in the log, I see some relevant entries:
Playback Started:......
Recvd event code: 14
Recvd event code: 0
and someother listings to verbose to type. If important I could paste them.

just to make sure you have specified a directory for the trailers and intros and those directories do contain valid video files right?

well, the intros are VOB files, and the trailers are MOV files. I have previewed all of them using MediaPlayerClassic

The .mov files are playable from the Theater plug in (although when played through GBPVR they are out of aspect and sound is out of synch, but thats another issue to sort out.)

vobs should play fine as should .mov files, they do on my machine anyway.

can you try again and post the full gbpvr.exe.log file and the.... errr the other one that logs the info about video playback (just open them up and see which one it is).

Well, i have tried to play 3 different movies and now nothing is showing up in the log!

also, the forum doesnt like me posting the whole thing..Ill try to attach it later

btw which version of gbpvr are you using?
