I am still having problems with corrupted recordings. Running version 94.13, my recordings behave as if the sampling rate is messed up or something, as the file comes out too small, has major jumps/skips during the playback, out-of-sync audio, and an hour recording shows up as 45 minutes or less. I have gbpvr configured to run comskip while recording.

This began happening a few days after I made a fresh install of gbpvr. Worked fine for a while, then this problem started. I thought I had it fixed by dropping the old config.xml into the new gbpvr directory, and it seemed to work for one evening, then started back again.

One thing I have noticed is that the recording's log file (generated by comskip?) is much larger for the corrupted recordings, and contains primarily the error message "Panic volume buffer" repeated thousands of times.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'm guessing its either your video or audio decoder, or your machine isnt up to running comskip at the same time as the recording.

Dont ever do that. The config files are not portable between version. You'll end up with broken stuff doing this.

This isnt one of mine. It must be something comskip is generating. I dont know anything about it.

I wondered that myself, but it ran fine for a few days after my new install. I just dropped my old install back on top of the new one, and if that doesn't straignten things out, I'll try turning off comskip. But it's been running that way ever since 94.13 came out.

It was the same version. But I'm not beyond breaking things...

OK, thanks. I don't really know if it is a clue, or a symptom of something. Maybe someone will recognize it...

Thanks for the reply.

Missed this one too.

The error being logged is caused by a big time difference of the audio and the video in the recording. The buffer used to be rather small.
It "panic" has been solved in the newer comskip versions. At least that is what I hope.
Which version do you run?
P4 3GHz 1GB, 250GB, nVidia dualTV, GBPVR 1.3.11, XP
