I think I have one of those laying around. Are they usefull for anything?

There is apparantly an issue with booting off a promise ultra 100 card on a FIC SD11. I have a silicon image based card I may try if I get a chance, but it works & I have a rule about not touching a system once it does what I want it to do. Smile

I can get P4 1.8 refurbished Dell GX-240's fairly cheap so I'm just going to deal with it until after the holidays.

The maxtor ultra 100 card is just a relabled promise card. But I understand what you saying. It's just this MB in particular that just won't boot the OS off the card.
It recognizes the card, And attempts to boot it as a SCSI device, but it just won't go any further.
It is a bios issue from what i've read online that will never be rectified due to it's age.

Besides, i'm pretty sure the slowness of GBPVR is more likely the cpu & not the HD.
